2024 Mixed Doubles Championship

We celebrated the Mixed Doubles Championship on Saturday 30th of November from 5 to 8PM.

Doubles Players were:
1. Andrea Mossetti & Alessia Mossetti
2. Guillaume Leprieur & Apple Chapman
3. Edwin Chow & Wing Hu
4. Laurence Kwok & Jenny Liu
5. Alex McMillan & Opal Chan
6. Ken Ng & Eva Renouf

After playing 5 amazing matches each in the Round Robin, Edwin & Wing vs. Guillaume & Apple played an exciting Final.
Edwing & Wing won the Final 5-3 and they are The CCHLY Mixed Doubles Champions 2024. Guillaume & Apple are the Runners-Up.

🎾TA CUP TRAINING ORANGE BALL

The club’s junior tennis team is getting ready to take part in the TA Cup (Orange Ball) on Saturday 20 May and the coaches organized a training session over the weekend to select 8 players to represent the club. The candidates, our best Orange Ball players in the club, played under difficult conditions due to rain, but still gave their very best. The event was very competitive, with many parents cheering from the sidelines with support and eagerly waiting to see who will be selected.

The brothers; Elton Kan and Elvis Kan, Richard and Robert de Meyer, Jonathon Lundberg, Jeremie Laurin, Charles Labbe and Gretta He were the final 8 players selected. Congratulations to the selected players and to all those who also tried out – best of luck in the event next weekend.

🎾CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP MIXED DOUBLES

Six pairs took part in the club Mixed Doubles Championships on Saturday 18 March. It was a fast and fun timed event, with matches run to time and plenty of pressure on every point. All teams got to play 5 sets each, and the atmosphere throughout the afternoon was really fantastic.

TA CUP RED BALL JUNIOR TOURNAMENT

📍Location: Ladies Recreation Club

The TA Cup Red Ball Junior Tournament hosted by LRC ended with a great result for the Country Club at the Hong Lok Yuen players, as they won the Tournament, defeating teams from 7 other clubs. The CCHLY Red Ball Tennis Team was represented by Jonathan Cheng, Valentina Frachia, Jonathan Lundberg, and Sebastien Lye, with Coach Matias leading the team.

The team had a tough 1st round vs. HKJC Team 2, with a great victory of 3-1 to CCHLY, despite all the nervousness of it being their first match. They then faced LRC’s #1 Team in the 2nd round, which proved to be a very close match, with the teams on a tie with 2 sets each, but CCHLY having 2 games more on countback.

The CCHLY Team was thrilled to play “The Final” Vs. one of the favorite Teams in the Tournament - HKJC Team 1. Once again the CCHLY players showed their skill and determination and defeated HKJC 3 sets to 1, for the championship!

Huge Congratulations to: Jonathan Cheng, Valentina Frachia, Jonathan Lundberg & Sebastien Lye for their efforts in this great event, and of course to Coach Matias!!!🎾

LEGO Red Ball Tennis Tournament
Saturday 11 February 2023

A great turn out for the first Red Ball round robin junior tennis tournament of the year, despite the chilly and misty weather towards the end of the day. It was a new experience for all the participants and they all enjoyed the event and did their best to compete against each other – and get used to calling the points and playing a match.

First place went to Richard De Meyer with 8 matches won and he received a $800 LEGO Voucher. Second place went to his brother Robert De Meyer with the same number of match wins, however Richard won a very tight match against Robert to make the difference. Robert received a $400 LEGO Voucher. Third place was shared by Jonathan Cheng, Sebastian Lye & Milo Law with all three accumulating 6 matches won - and they all received HEAD T-Shirts. Congratulations to the winners and also to all the other players.
