š Say Hello To Heather, Your Community Class Coach
Many of you will know Heather as the friendly face in the pharmacy up there beside Super Valu.
But itās only right to give her a proper introduction.
Heather is just about to go into Year 4 of her Health Science and Physical Activity studies down in ATU Sligo.
When sheās not studying or working, sheās down kicking ball for Boyle Ladies GAA (while also having the fastest feet the town of Boyle has ever seen on a pitch).
Between college and football, itās fair to say Heather is stone mad into her fitness, and has been doing her own training here in StrongLife over the last 3 years, so she knows the ins and outs of what we want to bring to the classes.
And knowing how nice of a person and reliable she is, it was a no-brainer to get her involved to run the new Community Classes.
So as soon as I ran the idea by her back in February, she was straight onto it and has spent the summer completing her Gym Instruction qualification, while also prepping and planning so we hit the ground running.
Weāre a lot closer to being able to announce days and times, but just need to wait a little longer for all to click into place to do so.
But we have had a massive response to the announcement already, and 30 people have their names down on the waitlist.
So, if youād like to stick your name down to get first dibs when we open up spaces, stick your details into this form:

Weāll give you a shout as soon as we get the green light!
Cheers!
P.s. Iām still working on the over 60s project. All going well, Iāll be announcing that in the next 2 weeks.

Hi everyone,
On behalf of myself and Heather, I just want to say a big thank you for such a positive response to our Community Classes.
We've still a lot of work to get done to get all up and running, but all the positive messages and chats around town all weekend have given us a great buzz to get all done.
We'll be back as soon as possible with more info on days/times, etc.
And I'll do a post during the week to outline what the classes will be based around.
Oh, and of course, to give you the full introduction to Heather too!
Cheers!

Sunday morning supporting Boyle Ladies.
And to keep tabs on the few girls who have been doing their strength training here the last few months.
Now that we're into Championship, it's good to see how everyone does and to suss out who needs deload sessions to stay fresh and sharp.

šļøCommunity Classes are coming this September!šļø
Iām delighted to announce that we will be launching Community Fitness Classes in Boyle Celticās brand new community hub this coming September.
And the classes will be run by none other than Heather Kerins.
The Community Classes will be perfect for parents dropping the kids off to training who struggle to find time for themselves.
And for the Boyle community who are looking for challenging, but manageable workouts to help you get stronger, fitter, and tone upā¦without the intimidating gym environment.
(Also - since itās a community hub, we will keep it to a limited number of classes so others can avail of the facility)
The Boyle Celtic crew are flat out getting the facility finished, so we canāt announce all the details just yetā¦
But if that already sounds ideal for you, then pop your details into this short form so youāre first to hear when weāre ready to kick off:

Weāll be back with more info soon,
Colm & Heather
P.s. I also have something in the pipeline for life-experienced people (60+) who want to stay strong, mobile, and independent.
Iāll announce that in the near future

I'll let you in on a secret.
If you ever want me to immediately increase the intensity of your PT session...
Then turn up wearing Mayo gear like these two chancers š
An extra 5kg was added to all their exercises š
To be fair, I did put in for it!

I can't say too much just yet.
But...I've been working on a new project the last few months.
And all going to plan, I'll get to fill you in on it next week.
It'll definitely be something fun and exciting for all involved!
So keep an eye out next weekend š

I might be completely talking out my arseā¦
But one thing I love about this place is that people are still human in here.
I donāt know about you, but it feels like weāre becoming more disconnected than ever.
Social media is riddled with stupid AI sh*te, loads of people are outsourcing their brain to ChatGPT, everything online just seems to be people arguing, and we all seem to be in a rush everywhere.
And gyms have changed too. A lot of big gyms are full of people with earphones in and who donāt know each other's names.
For me, I just find that a bit weird.
Like imagine having a room full of people who share the same interest and goals, yet they hardly know each other exists?
(Yes, I get the whole motivation to train etc - but you can still have the odd chat)
Itās why I love the fact that in here people are friendly, get to know one another, and make friendships along the way.
And I think the environment does help (besides the fact that I never shut up either!)
No mirrors, no tripods or cameras, no fancy gym outfits, no age barriers.
Instead, itās a place where people are given the freedom to turn up, train well, tune out of the rushing and racing for an hour, and have a chat and a laugh along the way too.
Lifeās too short to not knock a bit of craic out of those doing the same thing as you.
So Iāll do whatever I can to keep this place feeling a bit more human.
P.s. If you ever see me post anything AI - it will 100% be a cry for help š

There's no better feeling than seeing a client get the results their effort and commitment deserve.
And Aishling is definitely one of them.
Never a week missed and always happy to ask for help.
Onwards we go.
