What a weekend… and unfortunately one that ended sooner than we wanted.
It was a seriously tricky Donegal Harvest with 3 challenging stages, made even more difficult by the weather. The muck was being dragged out everywhere and conditions were changing constantly, so there was no room for mistakes.
We got off to a great start, taking the win on Stage 1 and having a really good fight at the front, which was a brilliant achievement coming from a set back in Ceredigion .
Unfortunately our title fight was to finish on Stage 7, we came over a jump and unfortunately the car landed awkwardly, we got into a slide and ended up running out of road. Thanks to all the supporters who tried to get us back out but unfortunately the car wasn’t going anywhere !! Thankfully, there was no major damage to the car, but unfortunately that was our rally over for us.
It’s a frustrating end to our MIJRS & Border Rally Championship after leading them both at mid point this year, but that is the way rallying goes you have highs and lows, most importantly we’ll keep our heads held high because there are still plenty of positives to take from the weekend.
We’ve one round of the Stellantis Cup left in two weeks at the Stone Throwers Rally, and we’ll be going there ready to push as hard and see what we can do.
