➡️Wow. Just wow. Day 4 – race day!

✅What a privilege to experience the Edinburgh marathon / half-marathon race day with this incredible group of runners traveling with Active Odysseys.
✅A feels-like temperature of 75 (with unrelenting sunshine) sure seemed a little unkind, but these runners embraced the challenge and their smiles never disappeared (no, seriously - see pics). So proud to have been on their journey!
✅This Edinburgh trip was four unforgettable days of fun, laughter, new friendships, and that unbeatable race-weekend camaraderie - all in an amazingly vibrant, historic, cultural, and welcoming city. What a privilege to have shared it with this amazing group.

➡️Holy smokes! An incredible Day 3 with the 15-strong crew in Edinburgh for the marathon with Active Odysseys.

✅A bunch of us tackled the INSANELY BEAUTIFUL 5K in Holyrood Park. Inquiring minds want to know if it still counts as “taking it easy” the day before a marathon when there’s a giant hill for the first 1.5 miles?
✅Pre-marathon carb-loading in a private room with a projector for the win!
✅Any time you can hook up your guests with a souvenir poster of themselves in running mode, you just HAVE to do it.
✅So excited for these amazing people to have a spectacular (heat-conscious) day out there tomorrow .

➡️Holy smokes (again)! WHAT. A. DAY (again) with the 15-strong crew in Edinburgh for the marathon with Active Odysseys.

➡️Our sport might ordinarily be more of a solo pursuit, but this trip leaves zero doubt that a shared love for running and international exploration can create an indelible bond between strangers. What a privilege to be part of it.

✅Tour Guide Paul absolutely CRUSHED it again on his sightseeing tours of the city and the castle. He is a walking encyclopedia with a wickedly Scottish sense of humor. Total legend.

✅And can we all now agree that we were right when I said traditional Scottish dancing is an absolute blast and the only "skill" you need is a willingness to enjoy yourself?

➡️Holy smokes! What an AMAZING first day in Edinburgh with the 15-strong crew here for the marathon with Active Odysseys.

✅Everyone safely off their flight and ready to rock before 12!
✅Beautiful, sunny(-ish) day.
✅Brilliant walking tour (with quite the view of the castle) by our legendary tour guide Paul. Who knew the Scottish invented absolutely EVERYTHING in human history that is good?
✅A park bench picture with Paddington (Paddington 2 is a pantheon movie).
✅A welcome reception to help with pre-race carb loading (nachos and pizza absolutely count).
✅An adult beverage or two for those who enjoy it.
✅A tour of the underground tunnels. SPOILER ALERT - some seriously gross stuff happened down there.
✅Lots of laughs. Old friendships renewed. New friendships formed.
