St.Patricks Rowing Club We are a traditional skiff rowing club based in the heart of the Dublin in the parish of Ringsend. It was named after our parish church St. Patrick .

Our club was formed in 1935-36 and is the first skiff rowing club in Ringsend parish. by the late Paddy (Nipper) Breslan, Jamsie Geoghan and Walter McFarlane jack (saw) cox - muddler mcDonnell - Lordy murphy - who were all confraternity men in Ringsend Church. East Coast Tradition
Clinker skiff type boats were once one of the most numerous type of working boats found along the eastern seaboard of Ireland. They were recorded in 1874 by historian E.W. Holdsworth, where he noted that ‘The smaller boats employed for the line-fishery are of the same style as the Norway yawl, sharp at both ends.’. Skiff racing has its origins in the occupation of hobbling. Hobblers were freelance pilots, and competition was strong to be the first to board the approaching ships. Not only did the successful hobblers receive payment to pilot the ships into port but they were also awarded the contract for discharging/loading those ships whilst in port. The skiffs worked mainly between Lambay Island just north of Dublin Bay and Wicklow Head where they required considerable skill on behalf of the oarsmen. The long tradition of rowing is now carried on through the rowing clubs affiliated to East Coast Rowing Council. These clubs can be found around the old Dublin pilot stations of Ringsend & East Wall in Dublin Port, Dun Laoghaire, Dalkey, Bray, Greystones, Wicklow and Arklow. Regatta's
Annually each member club of the (ECRC) East Coast Rowing Council hosts a regatta ,If a crew (team of 4 + a coxain) wants to enter a regatta, they may enter under the following categories:

On Saturday the 19th We Hosted a very special charity event which comes close to our hearts The Cunningham Memorial Cup this year it was in Aid of The Kevin Bell Trust which is amazing Chairty for Grieving families who's loved ones have passed Abroad.

We'd like to thank the clubs who travelled to Ringsend to take part in this amazing memorial cup and to all crews who participated and those who were lucky to win cups of close sentimental Value to the Cunningham Family.

We'd 3 Vets Men who took part which Dalkey took home the Ken Cunningham cup.

2 Mixed Crews which the stella maris took home the John Cunningham cup.

2 Open Men Crews which our Senior men took home the Ger Cunningham cup.

4 Open Women which dalkey took home the Ger Cunningham cup.

We also had 3 Vets Women which Dalkey took home a nice set of Gold Medals.

We'd like to thank the committee on organising a great day, to our members who took part, to the Cunninghams who presented cups, thanks to Rachael for providing sambos and keeping our rowers fed and hydrated, and to those who came and supported the crews.

90 years of celebrations!!

On Saturday the 12th of September we swapped our rowing gear to get into beautiful gowns and suits to celebrate 90 years of our club and what a night it was!

We're extremely grateful to reach 90 years of St Patrick's Rowing Club through the ups the downs and of course the celebrations throughout the years.

We held our East Coast Medal presentation at the black Tie event, we'd like to thank John Flynn and Mary B to come and present the medals to our crews.

Thank you too the Ball Committee who organised such a fantastic night.

Thanks to all our members who keep the club thriving you're commitment and dedication and love for rowing keeps us up on top.

To all the committee who work hard behind the scenes and through the season.

Thanks to all who came to the Ball to celebrate it with us.

I want to wish everybody who attends our 90 anniversary ball tomorrow night have a great time . Sadly i wont be there as my other half sadly gained her angle wings 10 weeks ago .thanks to our great members young and old for all your great help and also all our friends along the coast for all your kind words . Raise a glass to our founder members who started our great family rowing club 90 yrs ago .The photo is from the 50th anniversary 40 yrs ago only seems like yesterday . SO HAVE A GREAT NIGHT EVERYBODY FROM THE HAWK .

9 days to go before we host the Cunningham Memorial Row in Aid of the Kevin Bell Trust!

We've 3 legs of this great event which will be a 5k , 3k and 8k the Aim of the Cunningham Row is to think of the past rowers who have gone before us and for us to do it memory of them, we hope to see alot of supporters on the day to watch crews take on the distance in Aid of Such an amazing Charity.

On Saturday we travelled to Jumpzone in Sandyford for a well deserved end of season trip for our kids section.

They put so much time and effort into their training through the winter and the season, also helping throughout the season down at the club , they done magnificent fundraiser which was clocking 50km on the rowing machines with lots of well deserved treats afterwards.

Saturday was a fun fulfilled day for them and as we always like to say the kids are the future of our club so of course we always make sure they get the best days when the season ends!

Congratulations to them all over the season they deserve a round of a applause 🙌💚

We are delighted to Announce we will we be taking over The Cunningham Memorial row this year in aid of the Kevin Bell Trust.

We are following in Big footsteps as 2 years ago the Cunningham's and Wicklow Rowing Club have taken the trophies to host a great event in aid of the Irish Cancer Society but this year we are bringing it back to the Origins of 2022 when it was originally for the Kevin Bell Trust, we've lost some superb past rowers/family members, who supported the rowing for years, and ones who have needed to use the trust to get their loved ones back, it's for a great cause.
Open registration will be the Wednesday the 26th of August.
Hope to see you all there for a fun fulfilled day and to remember all our loved ones who have passed within the rowing community and beyond.

On the 14th of August we had travelled to Bantry Co. Cork for the All Ireland, the Hertiage races took place on Friday Afternoon and Saturday Morning.

Congratulations to the Irish Coastal Rowing Federation on hosting a superb weekend as per usual was great for all races to be live streamed for those who couldn't travel and cheer on our crews from home!

As you all know it's our 90th Anniversary of the club this year and what's a great way to celebrate? To host a black tie event to reminisce the achievements our club has done over the past 90 years!

If you like to attend and join along in the celebrations with us it'll be held in the The Talbot Hotel, Stillorgan Road on the 12th of September, drinks reception is 5:30 followed by a 3 course meal and plenty of music throughout the night!

On Sunday we travelled to Wicklow for the final regatta of the season! What a great regatta it was very well run and the day went smoothly!

Congratulations to all our crews who participated on the day your efforts throughout the year don't go unnoticed and the hard work and dedication is tremendous!

A huge thank you too all the committee, reps, coxes, club members and others who put in the hard graft behind the scenes without those people we'd be lost!
