Yoga4Health welcomes new faces into its national and international community, if you are considering growing or refining your teaching practice come and have a chat
to learn about how you can become part of this growing movement The Yoga Picnic on July 4th or online July 8th or 14th.

Yoga4Health Ireland is a grass roots, social enterprise formed by yoga teachers. It aims to integrate evidence-based yoga programmes into healthcare in Ireland to support peoples’ physical and mental wellbeing in an accessible and inclusive way.

This nationwide initiative has received support from The Irish Red Cross and Healthy Ireland who “are proud to have supported a programme that empowers people to
take proactive steps towards healthier, happier lives”.

Committed to research and working in partnerships with healthcare teams, Yoga4Health Ireland has exhibited at the Irish Lifestyle Medicine Conference (2024 and 2025) and All Ireland Social Prescribing Network (2026).

We are thrilled to talk to you about the programme, whether you are a practising yogi and/or yoga teacher/therapist looking to become involved in this hugely beneficial initiative.

Last Thursday and Friday, Susan, Aoife and I were very proud share our poster on Perceived Benefits of the Yoga4Health Programme for Ukrainian Refugees in Ireland: A Mixed Methods Review on behalf of Yoga4Health Ireland at the All-Ireland Social Prescribing Network. It was an inspiring conference with a clear message to all that social prescribing has a vital role to play in helping people feel more connected, healthier and happier in their communities across the island of Ireland.

What is Social Prescribing? Social prescribing is a means of enabling healthcare professionals and other professionals to refer a person to a Social Prescribing Link Work who supports people to avail of a range of local services, primarily provided by the community and voluntary sector. Examples include volunteering, arts activities, gardening, dog walking, cookery and a range of physical activities and hobby groups. https://hsehealthandwellbeingnews.com/social-prescribing.

How can Yoga4Health help? Yoga4Health is well positioned to be offered as a social prescribing activity in a community setting. As an evidence-based yoga protocol, Yoga4Health offers link workers, medical and healthcare teams a well-grounded, standardised yoga programme to support their clients in an accessible and inclusive way. We know that the Yoga4Health Programme helps people
•	To be more connected in their communities, decreasing social isolation
•	To feel more confident in managing their own health and wellbeing
•	To regulate and management mild to moderate stress, anxiety and depression
•	To become healthy and happier through the practice of a simple Yoga Practice.
