Join us on Saturday mornings from 10:00 to 12:00 for a relaxing restorative yoga experience. This themed series of workshops is designed to help you relieve tension in body, mind and soul. This is a perfect way to wind down after a busy week.
The workshops are slow paced and very gentle. You don’t need to be flexible or have any previous yoga experience.
In each workshop you will learn and practice methods to help you relax the body and slow your mind. You will leave with the knowledge and tools required to heal physical and mental trauma.

Free men's chair yoga class funded by Mayo Sports Partnership and in collaboration with Áras Inis Gluaire.
This chair Yoga class is for men who want to practice yoga without the more challenging aspects of the practice, such as getting up and down off the floor and bearing body weight in the hands, wrists or knees.
Primarily seated poses with a few optional standing sequences, this class has plenty of options/modifications to suit all ability and experience levels.
The class focuses on maintaining balance around the spine, hip and shoulder joints to help relieve arthritic, sciatic or general pain, and maintain functional movement in the entire body.
Push hard, or find a slower pace with more ease: either way, guided meditation, breathing and relaxation techniques will help you leave the class calmer than you arrived.

Gentle yoga for stress relief and relaxation.
Move your body in a gentle way to help unwind the body and mind, every Tuesday at 18:00. This class is easy on the joints and helps reduce tension within the body. Suitable for all levels including complete beginners.
This class takes place in Áras Inis Gluaire, in a gently heated room. This removes the need for vigorous warm ups or salutations so we can focus on the gentle poses and slower sequencing.

A little look at what my classes are all about.
Accessible classes for all levels of ability and fitness. I tailor the level of each class, use plenty of props where appropriate and put a strong emphasis on how to pace your own class using different poses, breath techniques and other modifications. My classes do not require any level of flexibility or strength, or the ability to meditate. Get in touch to find out what class might work for you.
My classes focus on functional yoga, which emphasises the ability to move your joints in a functional way. This style of yoga helps to build strength and flexibility in key areas of the body helping to reduce pain and boost your physical health. There is an emphasis on training the nervous system, how to relax the body/mind, and mental health in my classes. Each class includes some level of breathwork and meditation practice. The restorative class in particular focuses on mental and physical trauma, as well as deep relaxation.
The facilities in Áras Inis Gluaire are ideal for practicing yoga. The courtroom hallway (featured in this video) has underfloor heating with beautiful stone tiling, allowing the focus of the practice to be on yoga, not just warming up the body. The space is dimly lit and is separated from the rest of the civic centre, meaning that it's quiet and undisturbed. This allows for a truly relaxing yoga experience.
Chair yoga takes place in the beautiful gallery upstairs, featuring new art work every few weeks. Áras Inis Gluaire features a café for a pre or post class beverage.

This is an accessible class for those who would find a standing class too difficult.
Primarily seated poses with a few optional standing sequences. Deepen your practice with an intermediate yoga class.
This season will have a focus on flow yoga and the first few weeks in particular will be a great time to join as I lay out all of the techniques and skills required to move with the breath in a way that suits your body and ability where it is right now.
For practitioners with some experience of yoga, who know the basics and are able to move from the core while connecting the breath to their movements.
A more advanced practice with a strong emphasis on continued development while maintaining a solid foundational practice. Improvements in strength, flexibility and balance are included along with the deep relaxation that follows a strong, well-rounded class.

Evening Chair Yoga!
Plenty of people have been asking about a chair yoga class that they can attend after work and now I'm offering just that.
If you have trouble bearing weight on your wrists or shoulders, this class works on strength building in these areas without the higher demand of poses like plank or downward dog. For anybody who can't invert their body (lower their head below the rest of their body), this class can be attended without ever having to put your body in this position.
Plenty of options and modifications will be given throughout this class, making it accessible to beginners with the option of being tough enough for experienced practitioners who want to push their bodies and challenge their nervous systems.

I can hardly believe that it's the end of the yoga season! A huge thank you to everyone who's joined me in class over the past few months 🧘🙏
No classes for the next two weeks, but then I have one special class organised to celebrate the end of the season and bring in the summer. Join me on May the 30th for an all levels flow; a chance to move and breathe with your fellow yoginis and yogis using the skills learnt and practiced in class.
