Why Yin Yoga?
I found Yin Yoga at a time of my life that my nervous system was shot to pieces.
I had just lost one of my favourite people in the entire universe to su***de and I had no control of how my mind and body was going to carry all that grief and pain.
I had Yoga.
I had meditation.
I had relaxation.
You name it, I tried it all.
But couldn't find peace
Then I found Yin.
It was the stillness and the longer holds that allowed me to feel what I was feeling. It brought me great comfort.
Grief isn't just in your heart and head, you feel it in your physical body too. The heaviness, the tension and the exhaustion, the ache of missing someone.
Yin yoga gave me somewhere to put all of that.
I've had other great losses since and I always turn to Yin, it doesn't make the sadness dissappear but it helps me sit with it and soften around it. Making it easier to carry.
There are other sides to Yin too.
It compliments all of the other movements I do.
Working on the deeper layers of connective tissue in the body, fascia, ligaments, tendons, gently loading areas around the joints making the body feel lighter and more flexible.
Yin has become such a big part of how I teach.
It's not about how flexible you are, it's not about throwing beautiful shapes.
Sometimes it's about having someplace safe and quiet to land.
That's why Yin β€οΈ

10 years of Yoga at the Noga-Yoga Studio.β€οΈ
It has been an absolute pleasure. π
It may look easy but being a self employed yoga teacher is anything but. (Only self employed people will ever really understand that, don't even try if you're not)
But I love what I do and it definitely outweighs the business side of things.
I got started with my training in 2013, opened my studio in 2016 with a hope and a dream and I just let it unfold all the time continuing to train and to get really good at teaching everyone not just the flexible, because let's face it there's no fun in that.
My goal was and is to help all bodies move and stretch in a way that's beneficial to them.
My goal is to create a space that you can just come and breathe and get away from everything else that's going on and let yourself just be.
Thanks to everyone that has helped me throughout this journey and everyone that has come to my classes and some are with me before the studio space opened, we're together since the very beginning, when I wasn't even sure of what my hopes and dreams were, thanks for growing with me, thanks for trusting me with your practice ππ
I don't take anyone or anything for granted, I'm incredibly grateful each and every day. ππ§ββοΈππ€β€οΈ

10 today. ππ
Ten years ago this very date, Noga-Yoga opened its doors.
Somehow, a decade later, this little studio is still doing what it was always meant to do... offering a calm space to move, breathe and simply be.πβ€οΈ
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey so far. Your presence is really appreciated.
I truly couldn't have done it without you.
Here's to ten years... and to the next. π§ββοΈππ
