Coaches have to think about every player, every position, every substitution and the balance of the whole team.

That doesn’t mean every decision will feel right in the moment.

But before calling something unfair, it’s worth remembering there may be a lot more going on than you can see from the sideline.

🏆 Blayney Academy Lift the Cup at Ballinamallard Female Football Tournament! 🏆

Sunday was a fantastic day for Blayney Academy as three academy teams travelled to Ballinamallard to compete in this prestigious cross-border girls' football tournament.

With one U10 team and two U12 teams representing the club, the girls were proudly supported by coaches Barry, Niall, Frances, Deirdre and Eddie throughout a memorable day of football.

A huge thanks must also go to our fantastic parents, whose support was invaluable. From making sure players got to the right pitches on time to keeping everyone fuelled with food and drinks, they played a massive part in the day's success.

⚽ U10s Impress

The U10 team enjoyed a superb tournament, recording victories over Lisbellaw and Enniskillen, earning a draw against Irvinestown, and narrowly losing by a single goal to eventual Shield winners Lisbellaw B. The girls played with tremendous spirit and represented the academy brilliantly.

⚽ U12 Yellow Team Show Great Promise

The U12 Yellow team, featuring several players who are still eligible for the age group next year, produced some excellent performances. They earned hard-fought draws and wins against Irvingstown, Ballinamallard and Enniskillen before falling just short in a closely contested semi-final against Tummery FC. With so many younger players gaining valuable experience, there is plenty to look forward to next season.

🏆 U12 Blue Team Bring Home the Cup!

The highlight of the day came in the U12 Cup competition, where the Blue team produced an outstanding run to the final. Wins over Castlecaulfield, Raphoe Town, Tummery FC, and Irvinestown in the semi-final saw them set up a showdown with Raphoe Town FC.

Led superbly by Ella, the girls gave everything in the final. After a tightly contested opening period with the score locked at 0-0, Blayney Academy turned on the style. Goals from Amy Rose, Niamh and Mileja helped secure a brilliant 4-0 victory and crown Blayney Academy U12s as Cup champions!

The girls showcased fantastic teamwork, skill, ball control and pace throughout the tournament, making everyone associated with the club immensely proud.

👏 Well done to all the players, coaches, parents, and the BAFC committee for making the day possible. A special congratulations to our U12 Cup winners on a fantastic achievement.
