We're delighted to reveal the latest speakers confirmed for the Meath LSP Women in Sport Conference 2026.

✨ 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗲
Award-winning sports broadcaster, journalist and UEFA B Licence football coach. Marie has over 15 years' experience covering major sporting events across television and radio and was named Journalist of the Year 2024. She also received a Royal Television Society Award for her investigative journalism. We're delighted to welcome Marie as our MC for the event.

Director of Participation, Ethics, Integrity and Research at Sport Ireland. Mary is one of the key figures shaping how sport in Ireland becomes more inclusive, accessible and impactful for communities across the country.

We are delighted to announce Carla Ward as our first speaker for the Meath LSP Women in Sport Conference 2026.

Carla's career embodies this year's conference theme of Leadership, Influence, Impact.

From a successful playing career to management in the Women's Super League with Aston Villa and Birmingham City, to contributing to the USA Women's National Team's Olympic Gold success in Paris 2024, Carla has consistently demonstrated leadership at the highest level of the game.

Today, as Head Coach of the Republic of Ireland Women's National Team, Carla is helping shape the future of women's football in Ireland and inspiring the next generation of athletes and leaders.

At our conference, Carla will join us for a fireside chat reflecting on her journey through elite sport, leadership and coaching at the highest level. From the touchline to the international stage, we'll explore the experiences, challenges and lessons that have shaped her career and approach to leadership.

🌿☀️ Meath Outdoors 2026 Round-Up ☀️🌿

What a fantastic month of outdoor recreation across County Meath!

Over 400 participants got involved in a range of activities including kayaking, archery, Pilates & Dip, orienteering, beach sports, walking and swimming.

Some highlights included:
🚣 103 participants in Kayaking
🏹 50 participants in Archery
🌊 42 participants in Pilates & Dip
🧭 38 participants in Orienteering
⚽ 33 participants in Futsal on the Beach

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and to our clubs, coaches and partners who helped make the programme such a success.

Together, we showcased the incredible outdoor opportunities available throughout Meath.

Meath LSP is delighted to partner with Athletics Ireland to deliver an Athletics Leader Coaching Course for athletic clubs in Meath.

👏 Congratulations to the 12 fantastic women who took part in the Canoeing for Women Programme at Trim Canoe Club! 🚣‍♀️

Over the course of the programme, participants developed new skills, built confidence on the water, and enjoyed the benefits of being active outdoors in a welcoming and supportive environment.

A huge thank you to everyone involved, especially the coaches, volunteers, and members of Trim Canoe Club who helped make the programme such a success.

✅ Up to €1,000 for equipment
✅ Up to €1,000 for training & coach development
✅ Helping clubs grow participation in outdoor recreation

If your club is involved in walking, cycling, paddle sports, angling, open-water swimming, or other outdoor recreation activities, we encourage you to apply.
