West Sligo Athletics Club inspires runners of all levels, builds community, and hosts the annual Ó Dubhda Challenge.

West Sligo Athletics Club, established in 2022, promotes and supports athletics across West Sligo, including Enniscrone, Kilglass, Castleconnor, Culleens, Easkey, and Dromore West. We encourage runners of all ages and abilities, provide training opportunities, organise local events, and foster a strong community spirit through athletics. The club is proudly sponsored by Anam Pharmacy. We also host the annual Ó Dubhda Challenge, a scenic and exhilarating 10K, Half Marathon, and 20-Mile run along the stunning Wild Atlantic Way, bringing runners together for a truly unforgettable race experience.

DUBLIN MARATHON 2026!

What a day in Dublin! From stormy winds to sunshine and roaring crowds cheering every step of the way!

A huge congratulations to everyone who took on the iconic Dublin City Marathon on Sunday.

A special well done to our club members James and Rachel on their fantastic runs. We're so proud to see our West Sligo AC colours represented on the streets of Dublin! Huge achievement.

To all our running friends who also ran, take a bow – you've earned it!

We'll see you back on the track soon, but for now, put the feet up, soak it all in and enjoy the achievement!

Whether you’re lining up for the 10K, the Half Marathon, or tackling the 20 Miler (32K)—run strong, pace yourselves on the hills, and enjoy every single coastal mile!

🗺️️ RACE DAY ROUTES & ON-COURSE FACILITIES 🗺️

Here is your complete guide to the routes for all three distances on Sunday, 4th October! Take a close look at the map to trace your course:

💛 10K ROUTE (Yellow): Scenic coastal loop taking in the local roads around Enniscrone.

💙 HALF MARATHON ROUTE (Blue): Expands eastward towards Kilglass and Leaffoney before looping back toward the coast.

🔴 20 MILER / 32K ROUTE (Red): The full loop stretching down towards Burkes Bridge and sweeping back through Ballymoghany.

📍 START & FINISH LINE
• Located right beside The Old Church.
• Please follow the guidance of our race marshals on the morning for direction, safety, and positioning.

🚻 TOILET LOCATIONS ON COURSE
To keep everyone comfortable, facilities will be available at key points along the routes:
• All Distances: Main toilets located at the Start/Finish line (The Old Church).
• Half Marathon & 20 Miler: Toilets available at Leaffoney School.
• 20 Miler: Additional toilets located at The Meadows along the final stretch. 🙌
