There once was a pony, a character true,
A cheeky old gentleman, through and through.
With a heart full of kindness, a spirit so bright,
You brought us such joy, such laughter, delight.

You were once our school pony, a teacher so wise,
With a sparkle of mischief and joy in your eyes.
The funniest pony that ever I knew,
And every adventure was better with you.

In pony games, you could turn on a two-pence,
Quick as a flash, with your cheeky confidence.
And though you were an ex-trotter, you jumped with such heart,
You gave every fence everything from the start.

You loved every minute, you loved every day,
And somehow, dear Scotty, you always had your way.
You taught me so much, more than words can explain,
About courage, and kindness, and joy without shame.

And then came the days when your journey grew slow,
And age told your body it was time to let go.
So you lived out your years in the garden with me,
Just being your Scotty, as happy as could be.

With apples to munch and your favourite bread,
You were spoiled like royalty, or so it was said.
A garden to wander, a place to call home,
Surrounded by love, you’d never be alone.

And one of my greatest joys, I will always hold dear,
Is knowing my two girls got to sit up on you here.
To make their own memories, to feel your sweet soul,
A little piece of your magic, a story made whole.

You gave me a lifetime of memories to treasure,
Of laughter and love that I’ll carry forever.
A very special pony, a true friend and guide,
Who gave everything with his heart open wide.

So thank you, Scotty Too Hotty, you wonderful boy,
For the laughter, the lessons, the memories, the joy.
You were one in a million, a gentleman through and through,
And I feel so incredibly lucky to have known you.

Run free now, old friend, your work here is done,
No more fences to jump, just the warmth of the sun.
But wherever you are, I hope you know this is true—
A piece of my heart will always belong to you.

I just want to take a moment to say a huge thank you to the girls who have helped out on the yard this year. From bringing the horses down early on Saturday mornings, to putting them out on Wednesdays, and stepping in to help with mucking out when evenings were under pressure….none of it has gone unnoticed.

Your time, reliability, and willingness to help made such a difference, especially during a year when we truly needed the extra support. I’m incredibly grateful for every early start, every extra job taken on, and every bit of help given so willingly.
