Tralee Magic (formerly Tralee Imperials) basketball club's mission is to teach, develop, organise, manage and offer youth players boys and girls as well as senior players the opportunity to learn the fundamental skills of basketball while instilling life-lessons and values such as character, team work, discipline, respect and sportsmanship. We also aim to compete both underage and at senior level on a local, national and international level. We plan to execute these aim by creating a happy, hard working, respectable environment for parents, coaches , volunteers and players alike.

We’ve got something extra for our U10 boys over the next four Wednesdays.

Tralee Warriors professional player Jaden Daughter will be in Mounthawk leading dedicated skills sessions, with plenty of time on the ball and a focus on individual development.

Huge congratulations to Adam Quill, Óran Flaherty, Isabella Walsh and Ella Dowling, who have all been selected to the Basketball Southwest Academies.

A brilliant opportunity for them to train, compete and keep pushing their game alongside some of the best young players in the region.

U16 boys finish their day with 2 wins from 2 after the Phoenix Rockets took them to overtime.
Our U14 boys will also be looking for their second win of the day as they warm up to take to the court shortly.

Tralee Magic Boys Hit the Road for Belfast.

Tralee Magic’s U14 and U16 boys left Tralee at 2pm today, very happy to finally be on the road, for a busy pre-season trip that will take them from Kerry to Belfast and back again, with plenty of basketball along the way.

Ahead of them: 1,000km+, six games and three opponents.

🏀 BELFAST, 2015 → BELFAST, 2026

On 1 February 2015, our U18 boys headed to Belfast as Tralee Magic took its first step into boys’ National Cup basketball.

Coached by John Dowling and Jimmy Diggins, that season gave the group the competitive experience that helped drive a historic run to the National Cup final eight the following year.

And tucked into this photo is a familiar face too… future Warrior Keelin Crowe. 👀

Now, 11 years later, the road leads back to Belfast.

This Friday, John Dowling returns with our U16 National League team, travelling alongside David Leahy’s U14s for another weekend built around competition, development and learning.

The work continues in the same road north with a whole new generation. 💙

The next stop in our 25th anniversary celebrations belongs to the U12 boys, as they take over Mounthawk this Sunday. 🏀💙
We welcome Limerick Celtics Basketball Club, Neptune Basketball Club and St. Brendan's Basketball Club Tralee for a full tournament programme, with the first game at 9am and the final at 4.30pm - so plenty of games for our boys from morning to evening.
Thanks to supporting the tournament - We love the gear!
If you’re around on Sunday, come in and watch a game or two. The boys will appreciate the noise. 💙
