🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🇬🇧 Marathon Miles in Chester!

A huge well done to Wicklow Tri Club’s Orla and Aaron Jones, who took on the MBNA Chester Marathon this weekend! 👏 They made it!

Taking on the classic 42.2 km marathon distance, the pair joined thousands of runners for a fantastic race through the historic streets of Chester and the surrounding countryside, crossing into North Wales along the way.

A marathon is no small undertaking, with months of training, dedication and plenty of miles in the legs needed to reach that finish line! 💪

Massive congratulations to you both on a brilliant achievement and another great outing for Wicklow Tri Club! 💙💛

🇮🇹🚴‍♂️ Darren takes on Gran Fondo Il Lombardia!

A massive well done to Wicklow Tri Club’s Darren O’Sullivan, who took on the legendary Gran Fondo Il Lombardia in Italy this weekend! 👏

Inspired by one of professional cycling’s most iconic one-day races, the Gran Fondo gives amateur cyclists the chance to experience the demanding climbs and spectacular scenery of northern Italy.

⛰️ 108 km of cycling
📈 Approximately 2,400 m of elevation gain
🚴 Iconic climbs including Valcava and Selvino
🇮🇹 A spectacular route through the hills of Lombardy

With relentless climbing, technical descents and some seriously challenging gradients, this is no ordinary Sunday spin!

An incredible cycling challenge and a fantastic experience on the roads made famous by the professionals at the Race of the Falling Leaves. 🍂

Brilliant effort, Darren! 💪🔴⚫

Double silver at Valentia! 🥈🥈

Huge congratulations to Dee Joynt and Jackie Atkinson, who both finished second in their age groups at yesterday’s Valentia Island Sprint Triathlon! 💛💙

Set against the stunning coastal scenery of Co. Kerry, Valentia is famous for its unusual start: competitors take the ferry to the mainland before swimming from Renard Pier back to the island! 🌊🏊‍♀️ Add a challenging cycle across Valentia and the final run, and it’s a memorable setting for a race.

Brilliant performances from Dee and Jackie, bringing home two podium finishes for Wicklow Tri Club. Well done both! 👏

A belated but very well-deserved congratulations to Mick Humby, winner of the 2026 Men’s Fitzpatrick Cup! 🏆🌊

This prestigious 2.3 km race, hosted annually by Wicklow Swimming Club, begins at the Murrough and follows the River Vartry to the finish at the bridge near the Brass Fox.

Now in its 76th year, the Fitzpatrick Cup is one of the highlights of the local open-water swimming calendar - and it’s fantastic to see a Wicklow Tri athlete take the win!

Brilliant swimming, Mick. Congratulations from everyone at Wicklow Tri Club! 💙💛👏
