Indian athlete Praveen Chithravel won the silver medal at the Commonwealth Games, calling it a special moment after narrowly missing a medal by just 2 cm in 2022. He said the cold conditions made competition difficult, but he kept pushing himself to give his best. Praveen also spoke about his humble background, with his father a farmer and mother a homemaker, and said his next target is the Asian Games.

Golaghat, Assam: Reacting to boxer Lovlina Borgohain’s silver medal at the Commonwealth Games, her father Tiken Borgohain said the achievement was a matter of great pride for the family and the country. He urged parents and guardians to encourage children to take up sports from an early age and noted that government support and sporting facilities have created more opportunities for young athletes to pursue their dreams.

Glasgow, Scotland: Indian boxer Jadumani Singh won the silver medal in the men’s 55kg boxing event at the Commonwealth Games. Competing in his maiden Commonwealth Games, Jadumani expressed happiness at the achievement but said he would work even harder to win gold in future tournaments. He dedicated the medal to his uncle, the BFI, SAI, team coaches, and the Army Sports Institute, where he has trained since childhood.
