What did the participants actually get from 7 days of Bioinformatics training?
Not just notes.
Not just certificates.
They worked with real bioinformatics tools and workflows.
𧬠Retrieved and analysed biological sequences
π¬ Studied protein properties and 3D structures
𧩠Explored proteinβprotein interactions
π§ͺ Worked with PyMOL, RasMol and BLAST
𧬠Designed and shortlisted PCR primers
π³ Performed multiple sequence alignment and phylogenetic analysis
πΊοΈ Explored genome browsers and comparative genomics
π Analysed mutations and structural predictions
π Annotated protein function using InterPro Scan
βοΈ Examined allosteric effects and free-energy analysis
And perhaps the biggest takeaway?
They didn't just learn what these tools are.
They actually used them.
That is the difference between knowing the names of bioinformatics tools and beginning to understand how they fit into real research workflows.
If you missed this batch, you missed seven days of guided practical work across sequence analysis, structural biology, molecular visualization, genomics, phylogenetics and protein analysis.
The next batch is your chance to be on the other side of the screen.
Don't wait until the next workshop is over to wish you had registered.

5 days. One complete WES workflow.
Our recent Whole Exome Sequencing & Variant Analysis workshop took participants from raw sequencing data to a clinically informed, research-ready variant shortlist.
They worked hands-on with:
β’ FASTQ quality control & trimming
β’ Galaxy workflows
β’ BWA MEM2 alignment
β’ BAM & post-alignment QC
β’ Variant calling with FreeBayes
β’ VCF normalization with BCFtools
β’ VEP, SNP EFF & ANNOVAR
β’ ClinVar-based filtering
β’ Functional & pathway analysis
β’ Variant prioritisation
And importantly, they worked through real pipeline issuesβnot just ideal examples.
If you didn't register this time, this is what you missed.
The next batch is your chance to work through the full workflow with practical guidance.

That's a wrap ππ§¬
7 days. 15+ tools. One participant who went from retrieving her first FASTA sequence to modeling allosteric free energy in a protein.
Here's everything covered in one week:
πΉ Databases (NCBI, UniProt, PDB)
πΉ Structure prediction & visualization (RasMol, PyMOL, Swiss-PDB Viewer)
πΉ Protein interaction networks (STRING)
πΉ BLAST alignment & primer design
πΉ Phylogenetics (Clustal Omega, MEGA)
πΉ Genome browsing (NCBI, UCSC)
πΉ Mutation prediction (PHYRE2)
πΉ Protein annotation & allosteric analysis (InterPro, Allo Sigma)
This is the kind of training that turns "I study life sciences" into "I can actually DO computational biology" πͺ
This round is officially closed. But we've already planned the next one, and trust us, you don't want to be on the outside looking in again.

Day 6 was a marathon πββοΈπ§¬
Our participant built phylogenetic trees in MEGA, computed evolutionary time distances, and pinpointed the most homologous sequences in a distance matrix.
Then straight into genome browsing on NCBI and UCSC, exploring COVID-19 data across 119 vertebrate strains π¦ (yes, this is literally why booster vaccines exist).
Capped it off by submitting a live query to PHYRE2, a tool that predicts protein structure AND flags exactly which mutations matter most.
That's SIX tools, one session. One day left in this round.

Workshop complete ππ§¬
Over 5 days, participants went from raw sequencing files all the way to called, annotated, and clinically prioritized variants β the full exome analysis pipeline, hands-on, start to finish.
Day 5 wrapped with variant calling, normalization, annotation across three different tools, and a smarter filtering strategy for handling large genomic datasets.

Day 5 traced evolution itself π³
Our participant compared a protein across four different species using Clustal Omega, then built an actual phylogenetic tree to see how closely related they really are π§¬
Reading a phylogram means understanding branch length as evolutionary distance, not just similarity. That's real bioinformatics, not just theory.
Add in finalized primer design for a real human gene using strict scientific criteria, and that's Day 5 of 7 in the books.
2 days left in this round. If you're not registered, the next batch is OPEN, don't miss that one either π

Day 4 connected the dots π§©
Our participant ran a real BLASTP sequence alignment, learned how to judge a match using E-value and score, and shortlisted the top hits like a pro π§¬
Then came primer design 101: why a primer needs the right length, the right GC content, and low self-complementarity or it just won't work in the lab.
This is the exact kind of thinking that saves hours (and money) before anyone touches a pipette.

Day 4 of our WES & Variant Analysis workshop covered the full pipeline, no shortcuts π§¬π»
Participants downloaded and merged reference genome files from scratch, aligned real sequencing reads with BWA MEM2, and checked alignment quality with SAMtools and QualiMap β even working through a dataset with a high duplication rate to understand why cleanup matters before variant calling.
They also debugged an actual platform upload issue in real time π οΈ
Just 1 day left, ending with variant calling and clinical interpretation.
