Costruito all'inizio del Seicento, collegava le sale del Palazzo Ducale alle antiche prigioni della Repubblica di Venezia. Il suo nome nasce dalla leggenda dei sospiri dei prigionieri che, attraversandolo, vedevano la città per l'ultima volta.

Built in the early 17th century, it connected the chambers of the Doge's Palace to the historic prisons of the Venetian Republic. According to legend, it takes its name from the sighs of prisoners catching their last glimpse of Venice.
