同じ職場の先輩がイケてるSURLY乗りだった。ってのが多分引き金で運のつきはじめ🤞これまで譲って貰ったクロスバイクに乗られていたオーナー様。そんな先輩を見ているうちに段々物足りなくなっちゃって… 心機一転でオーダー頂いたSTEAMROLLER

当初はギアードのSTRAGGLERと迷われていたけど、いざ試乗したら一目惚れならぬ一乗惚れ。シングルスピードのシンプルさと軽快な乗り味が勝利

攻めたシェイプのハンドルは代々木公園店メカニックのトミーが企画するブルホーンバーRUSH BAR。NITTOの名作RB-018をベースに今使いやすい仕様にアレンジ🔥DIA-COMPEのマルチポジションレバーは元々ランドナーバイク向けに設計されたものだけど、実はブルホーンバーと相性が良かったり

フレームカラーと良くマッチしてるステム &シートポストはCerakote™仕様のトムソン。同じくグレーのFAIRWEATHERタイヤはしなやかな乗り味でアスファルトを流すのに最適

MKSさん75周年を記念してリニューアルされたMT-LUXペダルはクリップやストラップと大変相性が良いデザイン。つま先がホールドされるだけで走りが一変するのでぜひオーナー様には挑戦してもらいたいところ。固定ギアが一段と楽しくなるはず😉

The owner had been riding a hand-me-down cross bike, but watching his senior coworker roll around on a Surly slowly made him want something more. So he decided to get a fresh Steamroller.

He was originally torn between the Steamy and Straggler, but one test ride was all it took. The simplicity and lively ride of a singlespeed won him over.

The aggressive-looking Rush Bar was designed by Tommy, our Yoyogi Park mechanic, based on Nitto’s classic RB-018 and tweaked for modern riding. Paired with Dia-Compe’s multiposition levers, it makes for a seriously fun cockpit.

Thomson Cerakote™ stem and seatpost tie in perfectly with the frame, while the matching gray Fairweather tires keep things smooth and supple on the asphalt.

And with MKS MT-LUX pedals, there’s a whole new level of control waiting to be discovered. Add some straps and give it a try. The fixed-gear life might get even more addictive. 😉

A longtime old-MTB enthusiast, the owner finally got his hands on the Crust Bombora he’d been dreaming about.

The frame was custom repainted in hammertone, with handmade decals and a raw-finish cockpit to match the fork. Even the hard-anodized headset ties the whole look together.

The Outside Supply Therapy Bar, designed by our Hatagaya mechanic Ming and made by S*M, works equally well for trail riding and laid-back city cruising.

EQUAL disc brakes in a special Kashima finish, pink-anodized Stridsland chainring, and a mix of vintage parts from the owner’s stash give the build a distinctly old-MTB-inspired feel.

After years on 26-inch wheels, he went for a faster 700c setup this time. We're hoping that the owner is zipping through the streets of Tokyo!

🇩🇪ALLYGN & LOW PRESSURE😈

BLUE LUGで新たに取り扱いがスタートするのはベルリンのフレーム工房Fern Bicyclesが手掛けるコンポーネントブランド”ALLYGN/アライン”

第一弾の入荷はリア用のダイナモライト”EdelMü/エデリュミュ”。SONのEdelux(ダイナモライトと言えばまずこの形を思い浮かべる!)をそのまま小さくした様なカワイイ見た目。CNC削り出しで精度を高め、内部構造は信頼のBusch&Müllerだと言うのだから隙が無い

同じくベルリンのビルダーDrust Cycles /ドルストサイクルズのライトマウントをセットすれば完璧。カラーバリエーションも10色に増え色合わせでかなり遊べそうです

ちなみにブランド名は仲間を意味するAllyと、アライメントのAlignを組み合わせた造語(正にこのブランドの姿勢を言い表してる👏)

ブルべ関連でもう一つ。SFローカルサイクリストEric Marshall氏によるLow Pressure Zineの最新イシュー&バックナンバーが到着

SFのドライな空気や地元サイクリングコミュニティの様子が、自身が描くメタルパンク🔯なイラストと共に綴じられ特異な世界観。合わせて入荷しているTシャツもEric氏が描いたもの。粒子感強めでゾクゾクする…

A new brand is now available at Blue Lug, ALLYGN, a component brand from Fern Bicycles, a framebuilding workshop based in Berlin.

The first product to arrive is the EdelMü, a rear dynamo light. It has this cute look that almost feels like a smaller version of the Son Edelux the shape that probably comes to mind first when you think of a dynamo light!

Pair it with a light mount from fellow Berlin-based builder Drust Cycles and you’ve got a perfect setup. The color lineup has also expanded to 10 colors, so there’s plenty of room to have fun matching it to your bike.

Speaking of brevets, the latest issue and back issues of Low Pressure Zine by San Francisco local cyclist Eric Marshall have also arrived.

The zine captures the dry atmosphere of San Francisco and the local cycling community through Eric’s distinctive, punk illustrations, creating a world that feels completely its own. The T-shirts arriving alongside the zines also feature artwork drawn by Eric himself. The heavy grain and texture give them a seriously eerie feel...

Our mechanic Digi became so intrigued by Eric that he hit him with a bunch of deep-cut questions that only a brevet enthusiast would think to ask. Eric gave us some great answers that go beyond the usual categories of brevets and randonneuring, so be sure to check out the blog for the rest of the interview. 😉

🏕️FAIRWEATHER “HANDLEBAR BAG ADV”🕸️

自転車遊びの幅を広げてくれるFAIRWEATHERの大容量ハンドルバーバッグ”ADV”が久々の入荷。今度のロットから少しの仕様変更。容量がややコンパクトになり拡張用のフラップが標準装備

小型化する事で(特にドロップハンドルは幅が問題)選べるハンドルの種類が増え、フロントタイヤにバッグの底が擦っちゃうケースも減るしで、多くの人にとってメリットが多い筈

当然キャパは減るけども、その分を荷物量に応じてフラップでカバーする狙い。この着脱可能(Detachable)なフラップが相当優秀で、マットやポールなどいろんな物を挟み込んで運べる。単体で購入すれば、あえて色をそろえずバッグ本体とバラバラ、ていう遊び方も出来たり

とは言え十分な容量のADV。ひとつ装備しとけば、軽めのキャンプツーリングなら余裕でこなせちゃう

その上でライド自体も、着いた先での遊びも目一杯楽しみたいならパッキング方法は少し計算したいところ。バイクを軽くしたいならOff Pack 18とか使って荷物を背負っちゃう手もあるし、バランスよく車体に分散させるならFork Packと組み合わせるのも有効

人によってバイクもルートも走行距離も色々な訳だから、各々のスタイルがあって当然。決まりは無いので、自分にとって一番調子良い方法を探してみて下さい😉

The latest Handlebar Bag ADV is slightly more compact, making it compatible with a wider range of handlebars, especially drop bars, and reducing the chance of the bag rubbing against the front tire.

The new batch comes with the detachable flap which gives you extra capacity when you need it and makes it easy to carry things like sleeping mat and tent poles.

Still plenty spacious on its own, the Handlebar Bag ADV is more than enough for a lightweight bikepacking trip.

サーリーならではのタフな作りや無骨なデザインを、気軽に楽しみたい方に最適なプリアンブル。通勤や普段の足としてのコミューターカスタムを狙った設計でオプションは最低限＝すっきりシンプルな外観

最新のレーススペックではない、少し前のスタンダードな規格で揃えてくれてるからお手頃な部品も選べるし、ヴィンテージ(有り体にいうと中古)パーツとも相性が良い。現状のSURLYで意図せず美味しいポジション🤤

その昔RADAVISTでこのフォークの存在を知り衝撃を受け、いつか自分のバイクに組み込んでみたいな… と目論んでいた彼。たまたま仲間からオファーがあった(有り体に言うとお下がり)プリアンブルのジオメトリーが呼んでいて、ワンチャン合わせてみたらこれがまたバッチリ

USA製のミルククレートは普段使いにちょうど良いハーフサイズをチョイス。フロントのバトンホイールはおもちゃっぽいニュアンスを足してくれてCRUSTの世界観にマッチ。チェッカー柄のフレームパッドはOLD BMXをオマージュしたもので実はパームが発案者👏

それとなく放り込んだオールドパーツ達がよく馴染んでいてこなれた雰囲気😉見え張らず背伸びせず自分のペースで組めるのがPREAMBLEの魅力だと思います。SURLYもカーゴフォークカスタムもお気軽にご相談をー

The Preamble is an easy way to get that classic Surly toughness and rugged look without overcomplicating things. Built around older, standard specs, it’s easy to work with affordable and vintage or used parts. Kind of a sweet spot in the current Surly lineup 🤤

Palm from Tandem got himself a Preamble and a Crust Clydesdale fork after dreaming about the set up for years. A friend’s hand-me-down Preamble happened to come along, and the geometry turned out to be a perfect match.

A half-size USA-made milk crate keeps things practical, while the front baton wheel adds a playful Crust-y vibe. The checkerboard frame pad is an old-school BMX nod, which Palm came up with the idea himself 👏

California's legend framebuilder, Rick Hunter’s protégé, Darren Larkin is the man behind the Crust Clydesdale cargo fork and one of the key figures quietly supporting Crust from the early days.

He’s built some of Crust’s more offbeat frames, including the Dreamer and ENVE fork EPO, as well as the CR1 road frame from Ron’s Bikes. A builder with serious cred in the US bike scene.

This one is a custom build for one of our customer.

There’s a nice alt vibe to the setup 🧐. The long top tube and short stem go perfectly with a riser bar with plenty of backsweep. The US-made polished components tie everything together, while that UDH-compatible rear end and derailleur are seriously nerd-worthy.

The small Nitto M-1B rack up front hints at what’s to come. Can already picture it loaded up with a front bag. The Berthoud leather saddle also fits the frame’s handmade, crafty feel perfectly.

こと自転車に関する知識と抜きん出た組み立ての技術でBLUE LUGの仲間からも一目置かれる上馬メカニックの一周

例に漏れずバイクギークでコレクターで溜め込んでる自転車パーツは相当な量。どうせいつか使うからとかパーツ貯金だとか謎な理屈で今もコレクションを増やしてる模様😅

希少性や付加価値にはあまり関心が無く、実用性や質実剛健な在り方に価値を感じるのが彼の少し変わっている所で、特に日本の自転車部品メーカーNITTOへの愛は深い。そんな彼が考えるこだわりのステムが、今回もNITTOさんにご協力頂き完成致しました🤝

“ハイネックアヘッドステム”という名前の通り長めのネックが最大の特徴。フォークコラムにかぶさる部分を多めに設ける事で、スペーサーの少ないスッキリとしたヘッド周りに

昨今普通になってきたワイドなドロップバーや戻りの多いライザーバーにも対応すべくフロントは4ボルト、クランプは25.4mmと31.8mmで突き出しはそれぞれ4サイズ展開

Meet Ichishu, one of BLUE LUG’s most respected mechanics, known for his deep knowledge of bikes and exceptional building skills.

Like any true bike geeks, he’s also a collector with a serious amount of bicycle parts.

His passion led to the "High Neck Ahead Stem", a stem designed around his own ideas of what a stem should be.
With the help of NITTO, we’re finally bringing it to life.

The "High Neck Ahead Stem" is a threadless stem, with a longer neck that extends further over the fork steerer.
This keeps the things clean and simple, with less spacers.

It also features a 4-bolt faceplate and comes in both 25.4mm and 31.8mm clamp sizes, with four different length options.

🫒RIVENDELL “CLEM SMITH Jr.”🛒

リヴェンデルが考える理想のコンフォートバイクは、実用性から導き出されるごく自然な設計

The Neutrino makes mini-velo feel much more familiar to cyclists, with a completely new platform designed around wide tires that opens up all kinds of new ways to ride and live with your bike.

For people who are already familiar with riding bikes, the light takeoff and easy handling of a mini-velo offer a refreshing experience. Its cute appearance hides plenty of versatility, including serious bikepacking potential.

The relaxed, beach-cruiser-inspired handlebar is a classic by legendary builder Jeremy Sycip, paired with a reissued vintage Nitto ATB stem and timeless OURY grips. Paul Components all-silver seatpost collar and skewers add some subtle detail, while the Gino light mount is cleverly placed.

Look closer and you’ll find even more playful touches, from pink Cable Cherries and a Phil Wood BB mudguard to clear green Nissen cable housing matching the frame’s details.

A great ATB-inspired build that shows just how versatile the Neutrino can be.

ネーミングの由来は自転車から離れた”OFF”の状態でも調子良いから。ライドもアクティビティも日常使いも、ひとつのバッグで楽しみたい欲張りな人に向けてデザインされたバックパック

企画した幡ヶ谷店メカニックのミンミンは、最低限のパッキング & 自分で背負っちゃう(バイクの動きを妨げたく無い)のがお決まりのスタイル。その分バッグの機能性には並々ならぬこだわりがあって、特に重量は気になるポイント

新たに加わるのは、軽さを極めたDyneema®コンポジットファブリック。のホワイト。高機能なプロフェッショナル用素材を使いながらも、ギアに寄り過ぎず日常や街に溶け込む絶妙な塩梅が、今回の新色の狙いでもあったり😉

同じダイニーマ素材を用いて作られた超軽量なステムバッグも新入荷。特に新鮮なのが迷彩柄。透ける様な薄さと相まってかなーりマニアックな雰囲気に

The name comes from how good it feels even when you’re “off” the bike. Designed for those who want to have it all. A single backpack that works for rides, outdoor activities, and everyday life.

Ming, the mechanic at our Hatagaya store who designed the bag, is all about packing light and carrying everything on his own back. He doesn’t want anything attached on the front that could change the feeling of the handling of the bike.

The latest addition is a white version made from ultra-lightweight Dyneema® Composite Fabric. While using a high-performance material, he wanted this new color to not feel overly “tech” and blends naturally into everyday life and the city.

We’ve also just got new ultra-lightweight stem bags made from the same Dyneema material. We love how the camo one turned out. Combined with the fabric’s almost translucent thinness, it has a seriously niche, gear-nerdy vibe.

Using the Quick Attach Clip (sold separately), you can attach it to a shoulder strap or pretty much anywhere you like. It’s a versatile little piece. Despite being called a “stem bag,” we like to think of it more as an ultra-lightweight expandable pocket that can be used for all kinds of things.
