The official page of Royal College Water Polo Waterpolo was first introduced to Royal college in 1958.
Senan Nagarathnam was the first waterpolo captain. But the first Royal – Thomian Encounter for the Dr. R.L Hayman trophy was played in 1992 and the Royal team was lead for the first Hayman by Nethru Nanayakkara. Sachithra Thilakarathne was the captain who lead the College team for victory by winning the the Hayman trophy for the first time in 2005 by 13 goals to 9. From 2005 the College team won the Royal Thomian encounter for 6 consecutive years.

Victory at the Air Force Swimming Pool Complex for the ‘Royal College Union Aquatic Club’ clinching the National Waterpolo Championship for the year 2025, notably after reaching the finals and falling short for two consecutive years prior to this.
The team consisting of current schoolboys as-well as old boys faced off Sri Lanka Police & Sri Lanka Army in the group stage,
And notably,
Sri Lanka Air Force in the Semi Finals

And the Old Thomians Swimming Club in the Finals
(RCUAC-13 OTSC-8)
A flawless and truly undefeated season by Royal College
Water Polo we leave the flag flying high as we bid fair well and the best of luck to the seniors and give a warm welcome to the juniors to join us
