HNB Building in Kandy

When walking down the historical Dalada Veediya in Kandy you can see this iconic and exquisite building house the HNB Kandy branch. It is one of the greatest assets the HNB inherited from illustrious century old history.

It is the most striking and picturesque building in the center of world heritage city Kandy. It has two facades and one is overlooking the fabulous Kandy lake and the other is to the historical Dalada Veediya where the elegant Kandy Esala Perahera is procession on it's final day.

History and archives of HNB reveals, in late 1800 this magnificent building was built by NBI (National Bank of India) They bought this plot of land from Kandy hotels company.

It is reported during World War II this building was converted to a makeshift hospital,for a shorter period.

Despite having passed many decades, HNB Kandy branch with its deep rooted unblemished relationship with Sri Lankan people,even after the dawn of 21st Century, Still to date,stand high In Kandy kingdom displaying its golden glory of legacy, in its long existence.

In order to cover the expenditure, we have decided to price the entrance fee of Rs.2,750- for ladies and Rs.3,000-
