We are proud to announce that our Under-16 team emerged 2nd Runner-Up at the All-Island Football Tournament, showcasing remarkable talent and determination throughout the competition.

With a total of 14 goals scored, including an outstanding 7 goals by Shimak Roomy, our young footballers displayed exceptional teamwork, disciplined defence, creative midfield play, and clinical finishing — proving once again the strength of Gateway’s sporting culture.

From the first whistle to the final match, the U-16 squad played with heart, passion, and true sportsmanship.

A young athlete, Saad Faleel – son of Dr. J. M. Faleel) from Akurana, Kudugala Hairath Mahalla – has achieved an impressive milestone by breaking the Under-20 men’s 100 m record with a timing of 10.65 seconds. He now stands among the emerging athletes in Sri Lanka’s pool for the 2028 Olympic Games. Let us all pray for his continued success, strength, and endurance as he strives to bring pride to the nation.
