MAGRET BELEMU — THE ENGINE ON THE RIGHT 🇿🇲⚽

Magret Belemu has quietly become one of the most consistent players in the Copper Queens setup.

The right-back is not only comfortable defending, but can also be used as a wing-back or even a false-back because of her versatility, movement and impressive work rate off the ball.

I often compare her style to Real Madrid’s Trent Alexander-Arnold — especially the way she can adapt her positioning and contribute beyond her traditional role.

Belemu has cemented her place as Zambia’s preferred right-back, and that consistency has certainly paid off.

She recently made a big move from Red Arrows Women to Israeli side Maccabi Hadera, taking the next step in her club career.

Her achievements already include a COSAFA Cup title and a bronze medal at the WAFCON, while she also serves in the Zambian Air Force.

⚽🇱🇸 SOMETHING BIG IS TAKING SHAPE IN WOMEN’S FOOTBALL… 👀🔥

The WSL kicks off this coming weekend, and this season comes with a major change — three legs, more matches, more competition and more opportunities for teams to develop.

But that’s not the only change coming.

With district women’s leagues also expected to get underway soon, and stronger, well-structured District Women’s Football Committees being put in place, the foundation of women’s football is set for a major boost.

But here’s where it gets interesting… 👀

For the first time, we are looking at a clearer pathway from district football to the elite level.

DISTRICT LEAGUES ➡️ ❓❓❓ ➡️ WSL

Yes… there is a league sitting right in the middle. 👀

Not district.
Not WSL.
Something in between. 🔥

What is it? 🤔

Take your guess in the comments. ⬇️

The idea is simple: create a stronger bridge between grassroots football and the elite game — giving teams and players more opportunities to compete, develop and earn their way to the top.

And trust us… this is only the beginning.

👀 Wait and see what the NWFC is cooking.

The pathway is getting clearer.
The competition is getting stronger.
Women’s football is moving forward. 🇱🇸⚽🔥

🔥 WSL IS BACK! ⚽

The 2026/27 Women’s Super League kicks off on 27 September, with Kick4Life Women FC and Mphaki HS Ladies FC hosting the opening matches.

This season, the challenge is bigger — three-legged round robin means 27 games per team, up from 18! 💪

More games. More points. More pressure to perform.

The early bird catches the worm! 🪱⚽ Who will start collecting points early?

⚽🇱🇸 MORE GAME TIME. MORE DEVELOPMENT.

The National Women Football Committee (NWFC) continues to improve the Women’s Super League.

From the 2026/27 season, the WSL will adopt a three-legged fixture system, increasing league matches from 90 to 135 per season.

The aim is simple: more competitive games, more game time and more opportunities for players to develop and improve their performance.

More games. More players developed. A stronger Women’s Super League. 🔥⚽
