As we continue looking back at 15 years of Zouk in Latvia, we also want to remember the people who helped shape our community along the way.
Because a community is never built by just one or two people. Over the years, many dancers shared their time, energy, knowledge and passion โ teaching, performing, organizing and simply helping Zouk grow in Latvia. ๐คฉ
๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ & ๐๐ก๐๐ง๐ฒ๐ were an important part of those years. They taught Zouk together from time to time and created several full Zouk shows. And one of those performances became a very special moment in their own story too โ after the show, Zhenya proposed to Marina. โค๏ธ
Marina also contributed a lot to promoting our community and making Zouk more visible beyond our own dance floor. She was actively involved in organizing our International Zouk Day flashmobs, which became real community events for us.
And there was one particularly special moment: Marina, together with ๐๐๐ง๐ข๐ฌ ๐๐ฎ๐ฆ๐๐ค๐จ๐ฏ, became the first from our community to perform a professionally prepared Zouk show on the Latvian TV project ๐๐๐ฃ๐จ ๐๐ซ ๐ณ๐ฏ๐๐ข๐ ๐ณ๐ง๐ข, appearing there as guest dancers. ๐ฅ
๐๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ was another true Zouk enthusiast who taught both together with Lesha and independently. She had a real passion for understanding how the dance works โ digging into technique, details and explanations โ and contributed greatly to the technical development of many of our dancers.
๐๐๐ญ๐ฒ๐ was also part of our teaching journey, including teaching together with Lesha, sharing her knowledge and helping the community continue to grow.
Different people. Different periods. Different contributions.
But all of them became part of the story we are celebrating today.
15 years of Zouk in Latvia โ built by many people, one chapter at a time. โค๏ธ
