🐦 BLUE BIRDS KICK OFF TITLE DEFENCE IN STYLE 💙

The Blue Birds kicked off their second SSL campaign with a win last night against Atletico BJ. The game kicked off to a rollercoaster start, the lead switching hands twice, with two goals from Mifsud and one from Sansone to take a 3-2 lead into half time.

The two combined again early in the second half for Mifsud to claim his hat trick, while midfielder Camilleri finished off a well worked team goal to make the score 5-2.

Andy Spiteri then entered the pitch and wasted no time, grabbing two goals of his own, including an early contender for goal of the season, to put the game beyond any doubt. A special shoutout to goalkeeper Samuel Mifsud and defender Kieran Ferry who put in an inspired performance.

📆 The Boys in Blue go again next week against Citadella, aiming to continue last summer’s unbeaten run into this season.

🐦 BLUE BIRDS INTO QUARTER FINALS 💙

The Blue Birds overcame Division 1 side Msida Collies this week to progress to the quarter finals of the SFAL Cup.

The game was off to a hot start, with Barthet scoring almost directly from kick off, but the Blues quickly fell 3-1 behind early on. Jurgen Grech dug deep with a man of the match performance, scoring 2 brilliant goals in the first half to tie the game, and grabbing his hat trick early in the second half to take the lead. Barthet added one more goal from a quick counter attack to make it 5 for the night, but the experienced opposition held on to grab a late equaliser and take the game to penalties.

Barthet, Spiteri, Bugeja and Grech all converted from the spot, but goalkeeper Samuel Mifsud was the hero of the day, saving 2 penalties to take the boys in blue to the next round.

📆 The quarter final will take place on Wednesday 20th May, against the overall best side in SFAL, reigning Division 1 champions La Famiglia AFC.

🐦 BLUE BIRDS ADVANCE IN STYLE 💙

The Boys in Blue opened their account in the SFAL Knockout Cup with a resounding victory over Division 2 side Qormi Hotspurs FC.

The Blues had their foot on the gas from the first whistle, with the club’s talisman top scorer Luke Mifsud bagging a first half hat trick, followed by well-worked team goals from Barthet & Grech and a signature long range rocket from Debono rounding out a 6-0 half time score.

The pressure didn’t ease up in the second half, as Mifsud and Debono added another goal each before Sansone bagged 2 goals of his own, including a dazzling solo goal beating 4 players.

📆 The Blue Birds face a tough challenge in the next round, as they square off against Division 1 side Msida Collies on Tuesday 12th May.

🐦 BLUE BIRDS COME BACK TO CLAIM A POINT IN 10-GOAL THRILLER 💙

The Blue Birds had to dig deep earlier this week against Crazy Boys FC to remain undefeated in 2026. The Blues started the match slow, going 2-0 down early before Barthet and Debono grabbed goals from set pieces to level the game. The tide wasn’t fully turned however, as Crazy Boys scored 3 in quick succession to take a 5-2 lead into the half.

A formation change in the second half saw Camilleri fire in a rocket volley, and Man of the Match Portelli score 2, including a rocket volley of his own, to level the score. A final push in the last minutes was close but not close enough for all 3 points, as the Blues walked away with a draw.

📆 The Thrushes have three weeks off before their next game, a clash against league-leaders Goloso Golden Knights.

🐦 BLUE BIRDS SCORE 9 IN CONSECUTIVE GAMES 💙

The Blue Birds were back in fine form last night and for the second game running, club-captains Barthet and Caruana opened the scoring early to build a 2 goal lead. Kavallieri managed to pull a couple of goals back but could do nothing to stop Luke Mifsud and the returning Michele Sansone, who linked up to add 3 goals and take a commanding lead into halftime.

The second half was more of the same, with Mifsud adding another and Sansone adding 2 more to take his tally to 4, marking his return with a signature Man of the Match performance. Neil Portelli joined in on the action too, bagging his first goal for the Blues, rounding off a brilliant team performance.

⚽️ GOAL FEST AT INFETTI 🐦

The Blue Birds won their 3rd game in a row to start the new year last night against Gustuzi FC. The match started as a cagey affair, with both club captains Barthet and Caruana bagging early goals to take a 2-1 lead into the half.

The Blues’ star number 9 Luke Mifsud then made his mark on proceedings with a hat trick, opening the floodgates for the Thrushes to grab 4 more goals in the last 5 minutes. Camilleri, Barthet, Debono and Fenech Adami all got in on the action, including some well worked team goals, to end the game with a resounding 9-4 victory.

📆 The Boys in Blue go again in a two weeks time against Kavallieri CF as they try to maintain their perfect start to 2026.

🐦 BLUES START SECOND ROUND WITH A BIG WIN 🎱

The Blue Birds began as they mean to go on in the second round of the SFAL League with a resounding 8-2 win against Pain in Dias. The club’s talismanic number 9 Luke Mifsud shrugged off his defender to open the scoring before captain Barthet scored 3 in quick succession to take a 4-2 lead into the half time break.

Tommy Camilleri marked his debut in style with 2 inch-perfect goals in the second half to extend the lead. Barthet added one more goal seconds after coming back onto the pitch before Gary Bugeja smashed one into the top corner to put the game to bed in the last minutes.

Special shoutout to Dejan Debono and Jurgen Grech who shut out the opposition, and the man in between the sticks Adam Valletta who made some fantastic saves in the second half.

📅 The Birds go again next week against rivals Gustizi in what promises to be a thrilling match.

🐦 BLUE BIRDS OPEN 2026 IN STYLE 💙

The Blue Birds were back in action last night after the holiday period, taking on Nacho Libres to close out the first round.

The game was off to a hot start immediately, with captain Barthet converting from close range to open the scoring before new superstar signing Luke Mifsud scored 2 in quick succession to go into half time 3-0.

The second half proved to be more of a back and forth affair, with both Barthet and Mifsud sealing hat-tricks, and new signing Dejan Debono leading from the back with a goal on his debut too. The Blues almost lived to regret many missed chances in the second half, but managed to weather an opposition comeback to escape with a 7-6 victory.
