Match 3 β Sliema Ferries
π Podium Winners (in order of merit):
π₯ 1st β Victor Borg
π₯ 2nd β Scott Farrugia
π₯ 3rd β Glen Mansueto
Following an early safety assessment, the competition venue was changed from MβScala Jerma to Sliema Ferries due to incoming high swells which remained unsafe notwithstanding the earlier change in wind direction. The decision ensured safer and more manageable conditions for all participants while still providing an interesting and competitive venue.
The match produced an excellent variety of species including bogues, damselfish, wrasse, mullets, breams, parrot fish, several Gilthead Breams, and sand steenbras (menguΕΌ), making for a technically challenging and enjoyable session throughout both sectors.
Sector A proved particularly productive for Gilthead Breams, with both Victor Borg and Glen Mansueto managing to land several quality specimens, including an impressive 620g Gilthead Bream caught by Glen Mansueto. Thanks also go to the excellent pe***ng strategy which clearly contributed to the sectorβs success π
Sector B also produced quality fish, including a remarkable large sand steenbras (menguΕΌ) landed by Scott Farrugia.
Victor Borg secured a well-deserved overall victory through managing to catch several Gilthead Seabream, while Scott Farrugia followed closely with another strong performance. Glen Mansueto completed the podium after a very competitive session and quality catches throughout the match.
π Well done to all participants for their effort, determination, adaptability, and for continuing to uphold the genuine spirit of sportsmanship that defines the TFSA Premiere Float Challenge 26.
See you for the next challenge Chikkies ππ£

Following another successful and competitive match, we gathered together for a group photo to celebrate the spirit of the day.
With raised hands, smiles, and genuine enthusiasm, the moment perfectly captured what TFSA stands for β passion for sport fishing, unity among anglers, and respect for competition.
We also took the opportunity as a team to reflect on and celebrate our overall performance and achievements during the National Qualifiers - We are proud of the consistency, determination, and team spirit shown throughout a series of tough and highly competitive matches, where we managed to secure the majority of all overall sector results. This success is even more meaningful considering the relatively young age of our organisation, highlighting the rapid progress made through structured training, commitment, and a shared vision within the TFSA Committee for modern sport angling.
Beyond the results, it is these shared moments that define our journey as a team: working hard, competing fairly, and enjoying every step of the process together. πͺπ£
A big thank you to all participants for their commitment and positive energy throughout the event.
See you at Match 3 on 17/05, Chikkies π

Match 1 - Mscala
Podium Winners π in order of merit -
1st - Elia Guttadauria
2nd - Guido Carta
3rd - Fortune Calafato
The event started at 07:15 following a necessary venue shift due to strong swells on the outer side of Zonqor foreshore, which made conditions unsafe. The competition was therefore moved to the inner side (to the right of Bajda u Sewda post), ensuring a safer environment for all participants.
Fishing conditions proved challenging, with a very slow start that remained consistent until the final horn blow at 11:15.
The match was ultimately decided by two impressive Gilthead Breams, weighing 760g and 620g respectively (Still short for the BF of Owen Galeaβs Mullet 920g). Both Elia Guttadauria and Guido Carta showed great skill in successfully landing their catches using extremely fine WAKA TSURI PRO Fluorocarbon terminal line 0.117mm !! β a true display of technique and precision.
A big well done also goes to Fortune Calafato, who secured the 3rd place missing the top spot by just 20 grams β an incredibly close finish!
π Well done to all participants for their effort, determination, and for upholding the genuine spirit of sportsmanship that defines the TFSA Premiere Float Challenge 26. See you Next week Chikkies ;-)
