FROM 3-0 DOWN TO GAME 7 ⚾🔥

The Mustangs have completed the comeback and forced Game 7 after defeating Mellieħa 13-4 to tie the Finals series 3-3.

With their backs against the wall, the Mustangs once again stepped up when it mattered most. The game remained tight through five innings, with both sides battling hard and Mellieħa making key defensive plays to stay in the fight.

Chris Munz led the offence with 4 RBIs, including a massive bases-clearing double in the second inning and another RBI hit to start the huge sixth inning rally.

The Mustangs then exploded for 7 runs in the sixth inning to break the game wide open and keep their championship hopes alive.

One final game. Winner takes all.

🏆 MUSTANGS U.12 CROWNED 2026 NATIONAL BASEBALL LEAGUE CHAMPIONS 🏆

The Mustangs U.12 team are officially the 2026 National Baseball League Champions after an outstanding 8-3 victory over Mellieħa in the final game of the season ⚾💛💙

The Mustangs offence exploded right from the start, with the team batting through the first eight hitters in the opening inning and scoring 4 runs to take early control of the game. Mellieħa answered back with 3 runs of their own to keep things competitive, but the Mustangs continued applying pressure in the second inning, adding another 4 runs in what became the team’s highest-scoring performance of the season.

This championship is a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and improvement shown by these players throughout the entire season. From training sessions to game days, every player gave their all and represented the Mustangs family with pride.

A huge congratulations also goes to Mellieħa for an excellent season and for pushing the series all the way. Both teams showed fantastic sportsmanship, passion, and growth throughout the year, highlighting the bright future of youth baseball in Malta.

🏆 MUSTANGS CROWNED U.15 2026 NATIONAL BASEBALL LEAGUE CHAMPIONS 🏆

The Mustangs U.15 side produced another excellent performance to defeat Mellieħa 13-5 and officially be crowned the 2026 National Baseball League Champions ⚾💛💙

Mellieħa got on the board first with two early runs, but the Mustangs responded immediately to tie the game. Samuel Moreno reached base and later advanced after Liam Brincat was hit by a pitch, with the runners eventually scoring on passed balls. Giulio Micallef later hit into a fielder’s choice, while Benjamin Pace followed with a clean RBI single and eventually came around to score himself.

The Mustangs continued to build momentum throughout the game with strong hitting and aggressive baserunning. Amy Summer Elliott added to the offence with a big 2-RBI double as the Mustangs pulled away inning after inning. On the mound, Liam Brincat started pitching, relieved by Matteo Ciappara, while Elliott closed the game to secure the championship victory.

Congratulations to all players, coaches and parents on a fantastic season and well-deserved championship! 👏🔥

⚾ U.12 Finals Update

Mellieħa defeated the Mustangs 3-1 in another closely contested game to tie the U.12 National Baseball League Finals series at 2-2.

Mellieha hit the scoreboard with 3 runs in the top of the first inning and the Mustangs replied with a run of their own after Matteo Ciappara led off with a double, followed by an RBI double from Max Bianco. The team later managed to get runners on base, but Mellieħa’s defence managed to hold firm and stop further damage.

The decisive final game of the U.12 series will now take place this Saturday 23rd March at 08:45 at the Marsa Baseball Field 🔥

🔥 DOUBLE WIN FOR OUR YOUNG MUSTANGS – AND WE KEEP IT GOING! 🔥

Another strong day on the diamond as both our U.12 and U.15 teams secured wins against Mellieħa 👏⚾

🟡 U.12: Mustangs 5 – 1 Mellieħa
In the U.12 game, the Mustangs came out firing with a huge first inning. Nathan Buttigieg got things started with a single, followed by hits from Matteo Ciappara and Michael Micallef to keep the pressure on. Max Bianco then stepped up with a big 2-RBI double, and Yannick Gauci Vassallo capped off the inning to make it four runs early. In the second inning, Thomas Deguara showed great hustle, turning a single into a run, while Nathan also delivered a solid performance on the mound to keep Mellieħa to just one run.

🔵 U.15: Mustangs 10 – 5 Mellieħa
The momentum carried straight into the U.15 game, where the Mustangs once again showed their quality. Samuel Moreno set the tone early, getting on base, stealing, and scoring thanks to Amy Summer Elliot, who later crossed the plate herself. The team kept building throughout the game, with Matteo working a walk and coming around to score, Samuel adding a double in the third, and Giulio Micallef driving him in. In the fourth inning, patience at the plate paid off, and Max Bianco delivered a clutch 2-RBI single to extend the lead and secure the win.

A fantastic all-round effort with great hitting, smart baserunning, and strong teamwork on display. We keep improving, we keep competing… and we keep it going!
