27th April 2025

Ai Kendo Club hosted our first Ai Kendo Championship 2025 with medals sponsored by Kang Tae Sung Sensei & Yoo Gi Hong Sensei from South Korea, paired with customised category tags sourced from cut pieces of our Aimi Sensei's shinai.

AKC 2025 included seven shiai categories focusing on the inclusion of young and lower ranking participants, particularly those partaking in the club’s Ai Ko Kai programme catered to those aged 4-12 years old, along with those who have yet to gain shiai experience in full bogu.

Thank you to everyone who participated, showed support and guidance, namely our fellow dojos: Hamachidori Kendo Dojo, Harimau Kendo Club, the Japan Club Kuala Lumpur, Kenshin Kendo Club, and Penang Kendo Club.

Thank you to Chuah Sensei, Nakanishi Satomi-san, Nurlin Sensei, and Wong Wai Kit Sensei, who volunteered to assist in shinpan efforts.

Thank you to for providing on-site physiotherapy sessions and consultations.

Weekend well spent in Penang!!
Huge thanks to Penang Kendo Club for hosting us from Kuala Lumpur. It was a fantastic keiko session and a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge and skills. Looking forward to more kendo moments together in the future!

Thank you, Iwamoto Sensei and Satomi, for making this happen! This exchange not only sharpened our kendo skills but also strengthened the bond among the ladies kendoka in Malaysia. Here’s to more empowering moments together ❤️
