Today marks exactly one hundred years since Master Keizen Ono was born in Tokyo. Since his passing at the age of ninety-five, I haven't posted anything else here. So, it's been five years of inactivity on the page and a deep longing in my heart.
Although the page's purpose is self-defense and my course draws heavily on information and insights from other martial arts I've practiced, Master Ono was undeniably my compass in terms of technical development and adjustments, as well as life conduct.
His impeccable mental posture and his ability to teach his disciples in a unique way were exceptional. Words fall short when describing his technique; it baffled even the most seasoned experts and left fighters from every discipline speechless—I saw this happen many times on the mat.
He dedicated his life to in-depth study and meticulously researched the secrets behind the art. The solidity of his work on Earth has not ceased and continues to bear fruit through his many disciples spread throughout the world.
Today is his birthday, and I decided to reactivate the page as a simple tribute to the Master who transformed lives, who knew how, and loved to teach.
Happy 100th Birthday, Ono Sensei!
