Ok everyone, track will open at 3pm today until you have had enough!!! There is a puddle on the inside, Ill turn the pump on once Ive finished work and that will make it slippery when wet, but the track surface is fine.

Righty ho everyone, we said that we would advise on Wednesday what would happen on Saturday, and unfortunately, we are going to postpone to next Saturday August 22.
That will allow you to carry on over to Whanganui on Sunday for a double header next weekend if you love the dirt!
As there are some that wish to have a RIP on the oval with new cars, Friday night from 3pm we are opening the track to see how the new car runs, assist anyone looking for help as well as make available the Spring seats, both Losi and WCS versions. We also have the 21T pinions here, and the new scales are also here so you can weigh in and make sure you meet tech requirements for next Saturday.
This means we are free for Sunday at CMR off-road, so if you are keen get in touch and lock a space.
Right, carry on, there is work to do and always fun on the horizon.

Wow what a terrific day yesterday at the Indoor venue. Great racing in the morning, 2 rounds of qualifying, 2 races for everyone, 36 in total in 4 hours, before a quick track rebuild and reset for the NZ Supertruck 2 Hour race and wrapped up at 3.45pm. Shot team, we know we crack the whip, but this is what we achieve as well.
Congratulations to the Colezzies for the win, just a single lap over 391, from the Gerry Hat Tricks 390, then the Loopy Lesters rolling out in third. I was able to help out the Freyberg Team with their Hydrogen car, such a great little team, and the fact that we can help them out before they head to their first event as the new team was great. The first 30 minutes went well, then some small difficulties, which was eating the battery and the hydrogen stick in rapid time. In the end the ball diff nut had cried enough after 15 hours of racing all over the world, which was slipping and simply eating the power. Thanks for letting me be part of your team, had a great time and we look forward to working with you all over the next few years. We will go and have a chat to our team at PR Racing NZ and see if we can piece together a car for these guys and girls to race around NZ this summer.
So before we leave the enduro chat, we have had many a conversation regarding a dirt enduro, and mainly a SCT enduro, so now we have lots of cars, it is on!! I will check the dates available and we will rock a 3 hour Dirt Enduro for SCT this summer (hopefully before the end of the year, get some out of towners along and prove again that SCT racing is the best racing in RC)
So now we look forward to Saturday for the 10026¢ Mid Winter Sprint car classic. Weather is still a bit iffie, so as advised we will look again hard on Wednesday and decide whether we race on the 15th or postpone to the 22nd. First race, infact first run on the oval for the new Losi Latemodel, so are all looking forward to this. We have now printed all the spring seats for the Losi cars, as well as having the genuine Losi black pieces arriving this week.
So, this week is incredibly busy for me, so we are going to be closed all week, and the first day opening will be Saturday. As advised gates will open at 10am, and I'll be in the workshop from 8.30-9am, so if you are after parts, pieces or a chat, Ill see you Saturday. If you are requiring parts to be ordered, the cut off for weekend delivery is WEDNESDAY 12pm.
Right, as always, we are so lucky to have great people, great fun and a great hobby, so stay focused, get them cleaned and serviced, and we look forward to ripping the lip this weekend!!

Five years ago, if you’d asked me what it takes to own an RC track, I’d have said dirt, water, and a few shovels. Five years later I’d tell you a much longer story. Back then, it was just me and my oldest son, Justin. We had a dream. Build a place where people could race hard, spend time with family, hang out with friends, and just enjoy this hobby we all love. We didn’t have a business plan. We just had shovels, a water hose, and a lot of late nights. Folks would stand around watching us sweat, and I’d holler, “so you wanna be a track owner?” We all laughed, but looking back, that line says it all. As the years passed, every dollar that came in went right back into the track. Better dirt, bigger layouts, more equipment. Never in our pockets. It took a couple of years before the racer base really grew, but little by little, it did. Justin stepped away for work. My middle son, Jacob, stepped in, bringing fresh energy and countless hours of layout design and maintenance, and about three years ago, Clint came on as race director. His experience and dedication leveled us up. None of what we’ve built happens alone. Here’s what I couldn’t have said in year one. Most weeks, after a full day at work, we’re back at the track. Watering, grading, fixing. That’s the part people don’t see. And here’s the part I want readers to understand. Local tracks survive because racers choose to support them. A strong club night isn’t just a good time. It’s the next load of dirt. It might be the piece of equipment we can finally replace or add. It’s how we keep moving forward. If everyone waits until next weekend, eventually there won’t be a next weekend. That’s not drama. That’s math.I’m not asking anyone to make every race. Life is busy. We get that. I’m just saying your support matters more than you know. Funny thing is, after all these years, I’d still rather spend a Saturday working on the track than racing on it. Watching kids smile, friends catch up, good battles on the track. That’s the reward. So When you hear me grin and say, so you wanna be a track owner? Know that I’m smiling. Because now I know exactly what it means. And if I had the chance? I’d do it all over again.

As the summer speedway season approaches we announced the new updates to the existing rule sets for Sprint cars, which will also be very similar to the Losi Late Models. We advised in the last update that we would allow the different height Losi spring seats, to remedy the spring height issues in the stock form ( as required to use in the rule set). We have these on order and should be here next week. However, we have also printed our own spring seat sets and got out and tested today. From kit seats to fitting these seats the car went from undriveable to easy and tunable by simply fitting these seats. We are now allowing these seats which are $8 for a set of 4 as well as the losi parts ($20). The colour seats will allow us to help new people tune their car and the colours make it easy to get a visual to make changes. We have the printer going flat out and will have 50 sets available next saturday. While on next saturday, if the weather does not play ball we will postpone by Wednesday and look to the following saturday, August 22 to run and for those out of town Whanganui will be racing on Sunday 23rd if you want to make a weekend of it.
Right see you’all tomorrow for the 2 hour,
Hulio.

Alrighty everyone, its only 4 more sleeps until the NZ SuperTruck 2 Hour race on Sunday so I hope you'all are ready to rock. I must have traded every SuperTruck in the region last month and have 2 more ready to roll this Sunday!.
And just when you thought it was safe to keep them indoor tires on, toss them to the side and fit them real tires for real dirt action as the Super5 is back. The 5 clubs have been amazing and we have a new format, new racing format. Phew!! This year 3 of 5 count as usual, but we are having 2 Double-Header weekends so we can get as much racing as we can in without tripping over other events!
Gizzy fires the starting pistol for R1 on Sat Sept 12, then down the road to Hastings on what could be the last hurrah on the old track (I know I've said this before but the countdown is on) on Sunday Sept 13. Then a few weeks off, before we hit the clay at CMR for R3 on October 4, before the final double header at Masterton R4 Sat 14 Nov and the final at RIR on Sunday 15 Nov. Huge thanks to the club guys behind the scenes that have made this as easy as ever to sort. This new compact series, then allows the Gizzy Champs to stand alone, as well as all the other major events happening over the summer period, and a chance to really get around the central North Island this year.
But before that we have the 10026¢ Mid-Winter Sprintcar Classic on Saturday 15 August. Of course there are the new Losi Latemodels that everyone is amping to see on track, plus SCT & Traxxas Latemodels/Modifieds and the premier class - our Juniors!!
This is not to be missed, track will open at 10am now so you can rip the tires and throw mud about! The Citrus Bowl look a bit like Western Springs at the moment, but she's had a spray and we will have it ready to rip the lip on the 15th. Dont forget to enter early so we can get it sorted well before the day. Forecast is unknown at this stage, but as we dont do rain, I reckon we'll be spot on.
Thats its, mark these dates, we will be travelling so let get the RIR team travelling and doing the business in the last quarter of 2026!!
