⚽ U6 Futsal Open Day

Got a little one who loves kicking a ball around? Come along and give futsal a go with Gosal!

Our FREE U6 Open Day is a chance for younger players to get on the court, get plenty of touches on the ball and experience a Gosal session with Shingo.

No previous futsal experience is needed, just come along and have a go!

Netball Sports Centre

Competing in tournaments like Hawke’s Bay is one part of the experience, but it’s the memories made along the way that we hope the girls will carry with them.

The games, the travel, the laughs, the nerves, the celebrations, and getting to be part of this team together.

We wanted to give each of the girls a little something to remember this moment with a team photo and their own Gosal keyring with their name and number on it.

The National Tertiary Futsal Championships kick off tomorrow at Parakiore, and we’re excited to see so many familiar faces representing the University of Canterbury Women’s team!

We’ve had plenty of younger siblings watching from the sidelines, waiting for their chance to get on the court, and now it’s their turn.

We’re opening a new U6 Mixed Futsal class for players aged 5–6 years and kicking things off with two free Open Days.

Our Hawke’s Bay tournament may have ended with a fourth-place finish, but there is still so much to celebrate.
We are proud of how each player represented Gosal, their families and girls’ futsal in Canterbury.

The Japanese proverb 七転び八起き means “Fall seven times, rise eight.” It reminds us, it’s not about how many times you fall, but how many times you rise.

This tournament may be over, but their futsal journey is not.

Hawke’s Bay Futsal Tournament – Day 3 Results

Our final match saw the girls take on Four Zero in the playoff for third place. We controlled large parts of the game and created opportunities, but we were unable to convert enough of our chances. The match finished 3–1, placing Gosal fourth overall in the U15 Girls division.

We are incredibly proud of this team. Coming together, training and travelling to a tournament like this takes a huge amount of commitment from the players and support from their families.

Thank you to Zoe, Isla, Maddie and Shaylah for giving this another go and helping the group feel settled and confident. To Nat, Holly, Hayley, Evie and Charlize, thank you for joining this new team and bringing your own strengths to the group.

This may be the final match of the tournament, but it is only the beginning of what is next for these girls💜
