GOLF FOR MEMBERS ONLY – JUST NOT HOW YOU KNOW IT !
Limited playing of golf is now possible under Alert Level 3, so long as it does not involve interacting with other people outside of your Bubble. There are strict Government criteria to abide by and the opening of each course is entirely a decision for each golf course to make.
During Alert Level 3, at this stage the committee is proposing opening to Members only for nine holes of golf on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Essentially this is for practice and light relief, there will be no competitions, cards, flags, rakes or sand buckets, the clubhouse and toilets will not be open.
Because of the need for contact tracing, players will be required to book a time by telephoning the Clubhouse between 9am and 3pm on the days the course is open. To do this, volunteers are sought to man the telephone for a two-hour stint between these times. It is recommended that those over 70 years, deemed vulnerable by Health officials, not make themselves available.
Once sufficient volunteers are available, the committee will then determine the next course of action.
Please email your availability to [email protected] by Sunday 26 April.

COVID-19 UPDATE
New Zealand Golf has for some time been closely monitoring the very concerning COVID-19 outbreak with the guidance of the Ministry of Health, Sport NZ, HPSNZ and the Auckland City Council.
The current operating environment is unlike anything experienced before in New Zealand and it is a fast-moving and constantly changing situation. This fluidity is possibly the most significant challenge as we look ahead.
Health and safety must take priority over any other consideration.
For now, restrictions do not prevent clubs from operating their facilities, however we suggest clubs and facilities consider the following:
Asking members and guests to stay away from the club if they are experiencing flu like symptoms.
Asking members and guests to stay away from the club if they have been travelling internationally in the past 14 days.
Regularly washing hands with soap (recommended) or an antibacterial wash.
Asking players to not remove the pin when putting.
Remove bunker rakes from the course.
Closing drinking fountains.
Cleaning all surfaces at the club regularly.
Where possible, limiting person to person contact.
This information is being updated each day as new advice and guidance from the government and others is released.
