First match announcement is here, and it’s set to be a banger! ‘The Antidote’ JK Moody squares off against ‘The Ginger Jawbreaker’ Jacko!

JK Moody has a legitimate claim to being the best wrestler in the country, a world class competitor who has wrestled all over NZ, Australia and the UK. He has won everything there is to win in SPW, and has now set his sights on proving that Jacko does not deserve to be here!

Plucky underdog Jacko on the other hand, has been on a TEAR in 2026, winning the Fight for Gold briefcase AND the Southern Rumble! A man who has made a career out of getting knocked down and getting back up, he may have added the SPW Championship to that list if Moody hadn’t attacked him to give Cool Guy Sky the victory!

Will Jacko get his revenge, or will The Antidote prove he is still the measuring stick of SPW??

Trained at the prestigious Harley Race Wrestling Academy, American war hero ‘Ballistic’ Blade Lennox now proudly calls NZ home, and rumour has it he’s coming to Balclutha looking for a scrap!

Following a stint in the US Army that tragically cost him his right leg, Blade simply soldiered on! Finding professional wrestling later in life and performing all over the States with a prosthetic!

Having moved to NZ last year, he has been making a name for himself up and down the country as a talent to keep an eye on!

Congratulations to Will Ospreay for winning the AEW World Championship!

It was an honour to have you here all those years ago! World class talent, world class bloke and now a WORLD CHAMPION!

Mr Fight Nights is bringing his unique brand of violence to Balclutha Wrestlefest!

A former tag team champion who has impressed upon entering the singles ranks, he has routinely put on BANGERS every time he steps in the ring, and September 19th will be no different!

On the smaller side at 5’7 and 70kg, he has proven that size doesn’t matter, often dominating opponents twice his size and using his MMA background to tap them out!

SPW Fight Nights is a raw, stripped down experience designed to showcase the current and future stars of Southern Pro Wrestling, in an elevated training-show style environment.

The show places a greater emphasis on in ring action, so the usual lights and sounds of main SPW shows may not be there, but the effort in-ring is never less than 100%.

SPW Fight Nights are a more intimate experience, in a smaller venue with smaller crowd sizes allowing you, the fans, to get up close and personal with the action.

These shows are BYO and we invite a rowdy, party-like atmosphere at Fight Nights, so it may be more suited to a more mature crowd.

All are welcome, but anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a guardian. That being said, the main aim of our shows is that everyone that attends has a great time, so EVERYONE is welcome, and we ask that we treat fellow audience members, SPW crew and performers with respect. (We reserve the right to remove anyone deemed to be negatively impacting the show from the venue).

Tickets/Seating:
Tickets are only available to purchase with cash/eftpos on the door.

Food and Beverage:
This is a BYO event. Food and beverage are NOT available for purchase at the show, however you may bring food and drink to this event if you'd like, but please do so responsibly.

Parking:
Parking outside the SPW Academy is limited, but we are situated just around the corner from Tyne street, and a block down from Forth street (opposite K-Mart) which both offer plenty of parking availability.

Age restrictions:
In the interest of safety and enjoyment, we ask that anyone under the age of 18 be accompanied by a guardian.
These shows will be enjoyable for all ages, but it will primarily be aimed at a more mature audience than our usual flagship SPW shows.

Venue:
The SPW Academy will host Fight Nights for the very first time!
To be frank, it is a gym and it won't have the usual level of polish seen on flagship shows.
It will have its own vibe of course, but as it is an older building we suggest rugging up warm!

Less than a month to go until we make our return to Balclutha! Bringing NZ’s BEST professional wrestling action to Te Pou Ō Mata-Au - Clutha District War Memorial & Community Centre for what is set to be an unforgettable night!

Come on down and check out the homegrown talent, including the likes of K9, JK Moody, Jacko, Corey Beams and the SPW CHAMPION Cool Guy Sky! As well as veterans from overseas such as England’s Hooligan Marcus Kool and America’s Blade Lennox!

Last year’s event spat out a MATCH OF THE YEAR contender, and this year is bound to be no different!
