A huge congratulations to Inia on an incredible milestone — becoming the most capped Wairarapa Bush player.

This is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the commitment, loyalty and passion Inia has shown to Wairarapa Bush over many seasons.

Beyond the rugby, Inia is an amazing man who has been a valued part of our Union and a fantastic teammate to many along the way. His contribution, character and leadership have made a lasting impact both on and off the field.

From everyone at Wairarapa Bush, congratulations Inia. An outstanding achievement for an outstanding person!

Congratulations to our three Good Eggs of the week -
Archie Bennett, Malakai Biumaiwai & Fiula Tameilau

Week 1
Archie Bennett has been a great addition to the Bush environment. After a strong club season for East Coast, Archie has transferred that form into our Heartland campaign, making his debut against Mid Canterbury. More importantly, he’s really bought into the culture and is contributing both on and off the field.

Week 2
Mala Biumaiwai put in a huge shift against Mid Canterbury - 24 carries and a try - showing he’s working hard to get back to his best. We’re a better team when the X-factor of the Biumaiwai brothers is on show, and Mala’s unparalleled effort was there for everyone to see.

Week 3
Fiula Tameilau - a great example of putting the team first.
Fiula has been working hard, doing whatever is asked of him and stepping up to play out of position when the team has needed him.
No complaints. No arguments. No fuss. Just getting on with the job and doing what’s best for the team. That selfless attitude and willingness to put the team before yourself is exactly what being a Bush Good Egg is all about.

Welcoming Our New Patron - Farry McLeod

We are incredibly proud to announce Farry McLeod as our new Patron.

For many decades, Farry has been one of the driving forces behind rugby in the Wairarapa. From pulling on the boots as a player, serving on committees, managing administration, volunteering his time, and supporting generations of rugby people, his contribution has been immense.

Farry was WBRU President in 2005 & 2006 and is uniquely recognised across the region as the only community member to hold Life Memberships with Tuhirangi Rugby Football Club, Greytown Rugby Football Club, and the Wairarapa Bush Rugby Union.

Such is the respect for his service that the annual Wairarapa Bush Rugby Union Volunteer of the Year Award carries his name, recognising the values and commitment he has demonstrated throughout his lifetime in rugby.

Thank you, Farry, for everything you have given to our game and our community. We are honoured to have you as our Patron
