United Kawakawa Rugby are deeply saddend to hear of the sudden passing of former player and committe member Tony Reti.

Tony played for United Kawakawa through the 70's, 80's and 90's and during that time he also sat on the club committee at various times. He was a mate to many and a real cheeky hua to those he knew he could wind up.

Tony's legacy still lives on at the club today with his moko's playing junior rugby at the club.

Our love, thoughts and prayers now sit with Lesley and the whanau pani as they navigate through the next few days and beyond.

Also great to see former MUK player and matua Aorangi Stokes still showing the way and proving that he can still mix it in Provincial Rugby.

Our season came to an end yesterday with both teams going down in two very competitive games.

Our prems went down to Mid Northern 38-22 in a great semi final to watch. Both teams playing some great code in average conditions. Our development team also losing to Kaihu 22-20 in a back and forth game that went right down to the wire.

Proud of the boys for digging in their heels the way they have this year and playing with loads of ticker.

Thanks to our whanau, supporters, sponsors, managers and everyone involved in this season. We appreciate your time and effort throughout the year.

We will run it all back next year.
