It’s game day! Final one for the season. Get down and show the lads some support.

SPL vs UNI at 3pm

Fletchers vs Northern at 12:30 @ home.

Words from Joel ahead of our final game:

“Very pleasing to end the home season with a 4-1 win against old boys last weekend.
I feel like we controlled the ball pretty well for large parts of the game, although both teams struggled at times to really find a consistent rhythm. There were good periods of football from us, but also spells where the game became a bit scrappy and open.

The second half was a bit more up and down. We lost control of the game at times and allowed it to become more open than we would have liked, but overall it was a satisfactory performance and a good way to finish our home fixtures.

One of the biggest positives was our set pieces. Scoring from set pieces has been something we’ve struggled with throughout the season, so to score three goals from set-piece situations was really pleasing.

Koppert opened the scoring with a quality header, followed by another from Luke Clissold. Matt Adye then got himself on the scoresheet before George Barker got his first goal for the club even scoring with his head.

Now we turn our attention to the final game of the season this week against University.

We know Uni will be a tough outfit. They move the ball well, have plenty of quality and will give us a good test.

Lastly, we appreciate all the home and away support the lads have received this year and a huge thanks must go to our ball kids at all our home games. Another huge thank you has to go to the committee and everyone behind the scenes at Mosgiel, everything you do doesn’t go unnoticed and we appreciate every single one of you!

It’s the final weekend of football.

For our SPL boys, a win solidifies a second place finish, however with a win and other results going in our favour it’s still possible for a league win.

And for Fletcher cup, a win means second place and a spot in the Chinese Charity Cup.

With the games being a a good 2 & 1/2 hours apart it would be great to get everyone down to both showing as much support as possible.

Good luck to both teams we hope we can get both wins to finish off the season 💪

“For the first time all season I feel that we finally put together a complete performance.
The first half was tightly contested and felt like a game of chess, with both teams well organised and very little between them.

At half-time, the message was simple — stick to the task and keep pushing, keep working hard and work together.

We came out with more intent in the second half, started winning more battles, claiming first and second phases and created better opportunities. Matt Adye gave us the breakthrough, and we continued to push from there. Harvey made it 2–0 before adding a late penalty to complete the scoring.

A strong second half, a clean sheet and three important points.

As a coach I couldn’t really ask for anymore!  I’m really proud of the patience, discipline and belief the group showed. We deserved the 3 points and worked hard for it!

This weekend, Old Boys make the trip to Memorial for our last home game of the season.

It would be great to see everyone down at the club to support the boys and get behind us for one last home game”
