⚓️🌴 Birthday celebrations done… now back to business! 😂⛵️
It’s been a bloody lovely birthday rest, but MARISOL is back on the move! 🚤💨 We’ve just shifted her another 10 miles up the coast, ready for our early-morning jump towards Martinique 🇲🇶 — around 80 nautical miles of salty fun coming our way!
For tonight, anchors are DOWN ⚓️, engines are OFF, and we’re parked up in front of an absolutely cracking lighthouse view. 🌅💡
Not a bad office, really! 😂🍹
One last peaceful night before we throw the lines, raise the sails and go chasing the next island adventure. Martinique… here we come! 🇲🇶⛵️💨
Let’s hope the sea is feeling friendly tomorrow! 🤞🤣

⛵️⚓️ ST MARTEEN 🇸🇽 ➡️ GUADELOUPE 🇬🇵 — AND WHAT A DAY!
Yesterday 5AM — anchors up, sails out! 🌅⛵️
Another big day at sea, leaving St Marteen and heading south towards Guadeloupe. The boat, the crew, the hair, the eyebrows… basically EVERYTHING was covered in salt! 😂🌊
The seas were a proper 6ft of rolly, lumpy fun, and honestly, the pictures and videos don’t come close to showing just how much we were getting thrown around! 🤣
But my God… this boat LOVES 20+ knot winds! 💨⛵️ With gusts reaching 24 knots, Marisol was absolutely flying, cruising between 5–7 knots and handling it all beautifully. No engines — just sails doing their thing and eating up the miles!
After a tiring 15 hours at sea, we finally reached Guadeloupe around 9:30pm. 🇬🇵🌙⚓️ Safe, exhausted, salty and very happy to stop moving! 😂
And then there was Andy’s birthday dinner… 🎂❤️ He finally caught his Mahi Mahi! 🎣🐟
Although MY GOD… this fish could bleed! 🤣🩸 There was blood absolutely everywhere. The cockpit looked more like CSI: Marisol than a birthday celebration! 😂
Now we’re finally enjoying the gorgeous views of Guadeloupe, sails are down, the sea is behind us, and it’s time to relax and celebrate my Welshman’s birthday properly. 🥂🌴❤️
Happy Birthday, hun — what a way to spend another year! 🎂⛵️❤️

⚓️ 5AM — ANCHORS UP, SAILS OUT! 🌅 good bye Saint Christopher Island
So far, so good… no engines, just pure sailing magic! So far 😎🌊 Winds sitting nicely around 15–20 knots, seas behaving themselves, and Marisol happily cruising along at 7+ knots.
Island hopping is officially underway as we aim to knock off another 80NM towards Guadeloupe before we finally give the crew a chance to collapse! 😂
The mission: keep sailing, keep smiling, and beat that nasty weather rolling in over the next few days. 🌬️🌧️
So far, Marisol is doing the hard work… we’re just hanging on and pretending we’re in control! 🤣⛵️

⚓ Anchors up, sails raised... 5am, let's do this! 🌅⛵
Leg two is underway—65 miles to go with a lovely 15–20 knots filling the sails and Marisol happily humming along at 5–6 knots. She's absolutely flying... if you ignore the fact we're being marinated in salt water every few seconds! 🌊😂 Those lumpy seas off the bow are making sure nobody stays dry.
On the way out, we buddied up with a giant cruise ship that casually cruised across our bow, making Marisol look like a bathtub toy. 🚢🤣
Fishing rods are out, dreams are high, and we're hoping to catch something other than our all-time favourite... floating w**d! 🎣🌿 (Although we're pretty good at catching that.)
Not a cloud in the sky, endless shades of blue, and enough rainbow sea spray to keep us smiling all day. Next stop... Saint Christopher! Fair winds and following seas! ☀️⛵🇰🇳

Well... yesterday was our last charter boat delivery back to the USVI fleet. What a way to sign off! ⛵️
I have to admit... sailing a million-dollar beauty that cuts through the sea like butter definitely spoils you a little. She made the ocean feel a whole lot smaller... unlike poor Marisol, who likes to remind us of every single wave! 😂
Boat safely delivered ✔️
Lines tied up ✔️
Paperwork done ✔️
Food inhaled ✔️
Normal people would've called it a day...
Not us! 😜
We jumped on the sunset ferry, raced back to Marisol, and headed off on an evening passage from West End to Scrub Cay for a few hours' sleep before our big crossing to St. Maarten.
Because apparently sleep is overrated, coffee is a food group, and if you're not swapping one boat for another before the day's over... are you even sailors?
One adventure finishes, another begins. Here's to fair winds, salty hair, and seeing the next horizon has waiting for us. St. Maarten... we're on our way! 🌊⚓️😎

Sometimes the best adventures start with one simple decision... "Let's find a calmer anchorage!" 😂
After a rather bumpy stay in Red Hook, we fired up the engines, tied to hoisted a little sail, and made the short hop across to a peaceful bay. With our buddy boat – S.V. Oyster cruising alongside, the trip was anything but boring.
Ferries blasted past, kite surfers came flying by at what felt like warp speed, happily showing off exactly what 21-knot winds can do! 🌊💨
Not a bad commute when it's wrapped in epic turquoise water, postcard beaches, and good company. Boat life... never a dull moment! ⛵😎

Boat ownership should come with a free therapist... and unlimited coffee! 😂☕⚓
The last couple of days, Andy's been buried in both engine rooms replacing screws, nuts, bolts and seals, & sweat while I've been inside battling the never-ending Sahara dust. I did get promoted to "extra pair of hands" when required! 🔧🤣
With the days getting hotter, we've officially become early morning and sunset workers. The rest of the day is spent hiding in the shade, jumping overboard for a cool-down swim, and seriously interviewing air conditioners to see if one wants to join the crew! 🥵🌴🏊❄️😂
Another job ticked off the list... which naturally means the boat has already added three more. Boat life... the gift that just keeps on giving! ⛵🤣

Another all-hands-on-deck kind of day aboard Marisol! 🤣⚓
Out came one of our spare little water containers to make room for the new generator... because nothing on a boat is ever just a "quick swap!" 😂
Which naturally turned into: ⚓ Hoisting the generator out. 🧽 Giving the locker a good clean. 🔧 Re-bedding the geni. 🔩 Bolting her down properly. 🚰 Fitting new hoses. 🎀 Zip-tying cables until everything looked shipshape.
It's amazing how one little job somehow recruits ten others! 🤣 But hey, Marisol is definitely feeling the love... one project at a time. ❤️⛵️
Boat life: where the to-do list has a mind of its own, but the end result always makes the hard work worthwhile!
