It is with profound sadness that we share the incredibly sad news of the passing of our brother, Ali Peteli 🕊️

Words simply cannot express the heartbreak of losing someone so young, so full of life, and so deeply loved.

To Ali’s whānau Tracey, Lima, Sone, Maree, Amber and loved ones, we send our deepest aroha, love and strength during this incredibly difficult time.

Your journey here may have come to an end, but your memory will never fade. You will forever remain in the hearts of your whānau, your friends, your teammates and our club but also everyone fortunate enough to have crossed paths with you.

This week, our flag sits at half mast as our Pirates whānau farewells one of our own.

Alan was more than a Life Member of our club having been inducted in 2022. Rowdy managed our Premier side in the 1980’s, had a huge involvement in securing our first team/club sponsorship, as well as being a devoted member to the committee. His dedication, loyalty, and countless years of service helped shape the club we proudly call home today.

Through the good times and the tough ones, Rowdy stood by the black and white. His legacy will live on in every player who pulls on the skull and crossbones, every volunteer who gives their time, and every member who walks through our clubrooms.

To Rowdys whānau and loved ones, please know your Pirates whānau stands beside you.
Kei a koutou katoa ō mātou aroha me ō mātou whakaaro i tēnei wā o te pōuri.

Thank you Alan for everything you gave to our club and our community. May you rest in love.

Rowdy currently lies at 287 Taradale Road
A church service will be held tonight at 7:00pm, everyone is welcome.
Final service will be at 10:30am tomorrow at Dunstalls Funeral Services - 19 Edwardes Street, Napier.
Following the service, Alan will be taken for private cremation.
The whānau however warmly invite everyone to stay at Dunstalls for hākari at the closing of the service.

Albeit the weather isn’t playing ball, we hope to see everyone loud and proud in the stands this evening.
Below is some vital information around this evening/weekend.

Entry at McLean park will be $10 for Adults (this includes ticketing fees but not bank surcharges)

Children under 15 and students with ID will be free if they are wearing club colours or supporters gear.
If they are not in club colours tickets will be $5

Tickets are available from www.hbmagpies.co.nz or the ticket booth on game day.

Tickets valid for the day they are purchased only

HBRU encourages people purchasing tickets to do so online prior to arriving at the game rather than at the ticket office, this will avoid lines on game day and avoid delays for entry.

Only the Harris stand will be open for finals weekend. All tickets are general admission and won’t have allocated seating.

There will be a livestream available for those unable to attend. Streaming is on a pay-per-view basis. $5 per game or $15 for a weekend pass to watch all the McLean Park finals.

There will be a bus departing the club at 4:45pm, limited numbers so first in first serve.
The club will then be open from 7pm onwards.
