What an incredible weekend away in Taupō for our Kaitake Junior Rugby Under 11s at the NZ Global Games Junior Rugby Festival.

The team finished the tournament with an impressive 4 wins from 5 games, finishing 4th overall in a very competitive U11 50kg Restricted division.

One of the highlights of the weekend was getting to meet and spend time with our buddy team, Auckland Grammar Juniors RFC, and how cool was it that Dan Carter’s son was part of their team! Such a special connection and a great memory for the kids.

A huge thank you once again to our amazing coaches Nick and Grant for the time, energy and commitment they have put into the team. We are incredibly grateful for everything you do.

Thank you also to all the organisers, volunteers and parents who helped make the weekend such a success, from the sidelines, transport, food, organisation and everything in between. These tournaments simply don’t happen without the amazing support around our kids.

And to all our Kaitake parents, you should be incredibly proud of your kids. They represented Kaitake with pride, worked hard, supported each other and gave everything on the field. More importantly, they had fun, made memories and built friendships that will last well beyond the rugby field.

All the best to our Kaitake Rugby Under 11 team heading to Taupō this weekend for the Junior Rugby Festival!

What an exciting opportunity for our young players to get out there, represent Kaitake and, most importantly, enjoy the experience, make memories and have plenty of fun together. We’re incredibly proud of them and hope they have an awesome weekend!

A special thank you to our fantastic coaches Grant and Nick for the time, energy and commitment they put into our kids. Your support and encouragement make such a difference.

We’d also like to give a huge shout out to Jen from Hall of Design for designing the amazing tracksuits the kids will proudly wear throughout the tournament. They look fantastic and are a great representation of our club!

And of course, thank you to Kate Bridgeman and Sarah Lawn for all the behind the scenes work that goes into making opportunities like this happen. We really appreciate everything you have done to get the team organised.

Kia Ora Kaitake community; girls Friday night rugby kicks off in term 3. It’s a great way to keep our girls playing for longer - ripper for the younger ones, and tackle for the older ones.
