I find shaping Double Hot Curls REALLY makes me think, there are so many different surfaces to blend together. Here I’m just working on the tail third, however the concave I’m shaping into this prong will eventually run all the way to the nose between the inside edge of the rail chine and the vertical wall of an edge bottom. A much broader concave will run from the nose between the two bottom edges all the way out the tail between the prongs.

Today was mostly about building a new cutting table for my stringer router so it was nice to get into the shaping bay right at the end of the day to make a start on the quiver updates. Just a short session to tune out from one mode and into another. Looking forward to getting stuck in tomorrow.

Huge amount of work went into making the stringers for my two board quiver update. Huge amount of thinking on the length and overall design of these two shapes as well. Very rewarding to machine the 7’4” this afternoon and it joins the 9’4” on the short list for hand shaping. Cheers to Brayden •P for the additional camera work.
