WORKING BEE – SUNDAY 27TH

We need a good crew down at the club Sunday the 27th of September from 9am to get a few jobs ticked off around the grounds and clubrooms.

If you’re a player, coach, parent, supporter or just part of the club community, come down and lend a hand. The more people we have, the quicker we can get through it.
Even an hour or two makes a difference, so come along if you can.

Help Us Keep Our Young Talent at Springston Rugby Club 💚🖤

Springston Rugby Club is continuing to rebuild our Senior Division 2 side with the goal of earning promotion and re-establishing a Division 1 team in the near future. A key part of that journey is retaining the talented young players who have come through our Colts programme.

Many of this year's Colts are completing university at the end of 2026 and are looking to begin their careers. If we can help them find employment within Selwyn or the wider Canterbury region, they'll be able to stay local and commit to playing for Springston while helping build the future of our club.

We're asking our amazing rugby community for a hand.

🏉 SPRINGSTON SPARTANS NZ JUNIOR RUGBY FESTIVAL 🏔️

What a weekend!
From snow warnings and a long scenic detour for some families 🚗❄️ to go-karts, pizza, bowling, luge and finally… RUGBY!

With Day 1 of the tournament cancelled, the team managers quickly went into pivoting to plan B, making sure the team still had plenty of team bonding (and fun!) before hitting the field Saturday for a more condensed schedule of rugby.

Saturday brought a cold start, however turned into beautiful sunny day 😎 ! Two games on Saturday with a tough first-up loss to Upper Clutha which was the wake-up call the Spartans needed. They turned it up against Cromwell and came away with a big win! 💪🏽

Sunday saw the Spartans take on their buddy team, DLS, with a big win finishing the tournament on a high! Both teams came together at the end to exchange gifts.

To top off the tournament the Springston Spartans were presented the NZ Junior Rugby Festival 🏆 REFEREE’S CHOICE AWARD! 🏆
A pretty awesome way to finish the weekend and recognition of the teams attitude, sportsmanship and effort.

It was then time to celebrate with a swim at the events centre and dinner at the Crowne. 🏊‍♂️🍕

Huge thanks to everyone who helped get our Spartans to Queenstown and supported them along the way.

We came for the rugby, conquered Queenstown, made some memories… and most importantly, made sure everyone now knows where Springston is! 😂

It is chosen by the referees and goes to the team that, in their view, consistently demonstrates:
