The NZ National Boccia Championships are coming to Pulman Arena!
Boccia is a Para sport based on strategy, precision and accuracy. Played indoors, athletes aim to get their balls as close as possible to a target ball, known as the βJackβ. Depending on their classification, athletes can throw or kick the ball, or use a ramp to help them play.
Itβs a sport that can be played by people with a range of physical disabilities, and watching the competition shows just how much skill and strategy is involved.
Around 20 athletes from across New Zealand and Australia are competing at Pulman Arena from 24β27 September, with national titles on the line.

We love being able to host sports that perhaps donβt get as much attention as some of the bigger codes. Hopefully having the championships here gives more people the chance to discover boccia, see it in action and appreciate what these athletes can do.
