Get to know… ROCK IT 🐙

My strawberry roany pony!

The QUIRKIEST chap I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting! He doesn’t seem to know his age in any aspect of life either 😜

Can confirm no Octopus were hurt in the making of this video 🫣

We have named him the Comeback Kid! I know he’s been a huge part of keeping me motivated the last few months after giving me the coolest feeling at the 3DE! And he’s making his own comeback after he slipped into early semi retirement for a bit there (the dad bod life hit him hard 😂)!

I’m so grateful to Amy and Megan for allowing me the chance to buy him as I know how special he is to your family! 16yr old Brea is SCREAMING that he’s mine. Always a big Radar fan (as I know many other people are too) 🩷

Get to know… WEITI GLADIATOR 🍝 🦒

17.2hh, 10yr old Gelding by Weiti Kingswood out of a Doringcourt mare. Bred by Macey and Jan Gill.

But most importantly the King of Walnut Tree Farm 🤴🏼 and the world’s biggest oddfellow lover!

The fact that I didn’t need anyone to come and bring him into work for me after 3 months off is a true testament to his nature! He was my first pick to ride after my accident and I can just climb aboard with full faith in him (definitely the 14hh pony the specialist recommended I start with) 😜

Love you Noodles! You might not be everyone’s cup of tea but you’re perfect to me!

✖️ COACHING & SCHOOLERS UPDATE✖️

Great news that I am going to be back coaching from next week! Taking bookings from August 10th. I can travel locally or teach at our property (central Kinloch) with flatwork, show jumping and cross country options all on site! Perfect timing for NISS and pre season training!

60x40 Jump Arena with full set of jumps with fill. Cross country paddock with logs, skinnies, brush, combinations, undulating ground which allows for some awesome training opportunities and more to come… 😍

We have paddocks and accomodation available on site for my clients from out of Taupo if you’re wanting to travel down for a few days of training (get out to jump on the grass before the season starts)!

Currently taking a waitlist for schoolers the hope being that I can start taking schoolers around end August/early September but could easily be earlier so get in with your interest now!

The season is just around the corner 💪🏽

Jethro’s iconic tail is BACK! 🤩

Poor thing was looking a bit worse for wear after 11 weeks of no attention!

Ecohorse Routine:
✖️ Wash thoroughly with Grease Release Shampoo! Rinse and towel dry.
✖️Lather in Restore Hair Masque and leave overnight.
✖️Rinse and towel dry before spraying with Detangle and Shine!
✖️Brush out (and trim!!).

Typing this out has made me realise I care a lot more about my horses hair than my own 😂👩🏼‍🦱

Jethro’s clipped, trimmed and probably wondering what on earth is going on! Eek…

JUNE/JULY RECAP

I didn’t write a June recap as I really didn’t have the words then. But now I’ve had more time to reflect this is a 2 in 1 for you all. Buckle in 🤍😵‍💫

Without pointing out the obvious she’s been a tough few months. I remember joking with my physio earlier in the year about how I would be the worst person to ever have a major injury where I had to be on total rest because I don’t know how to sit still… maybe we laughed a little too hard at the time 😂

Needless to say it’s been a major learning curve learning to actually sit (in my very comfy new lay-z boy chair) with tough times and self doubt. The amount of times I would have given everything to go for a run or a trot through the forest on Jethro. Life has a way of teaching you new skills and making you stronger 🥲

I can’t stop thinking about how incredibly lucky I was to come away from a rotational fall with only the injuries I did. The luckiest girl really in the scheme of things. A brain bleed and a fractured pelvis seems like nothing after the very sad events of the last few week. It may feel all consuming now but I know in a few short months I’ll be flying around the cross country and this will all hopefully be a distant memory. What a tough time for our eventing family lately, I know everyone will be feeling it. Thinking of those going through tough times. 💔 tomorrow is not guaranteed for anyone so time to live life fully, sweat the small stuff less and smile more!

This has been the perfect opportunity for reflection and spending quality time with all the people that mean so much to me. I have been so lucky to have so many visitors, I haven’t gone more than a day without someone coming to see me, which really plays a huge role in recovery mentally!

Now time to knuckle down. Full focus is on getting myself stronger so I can be back doing what I love so much. 🐎 Gym and physio are going well so the plan is to keep building on this steadily each week. I have an awesome team in Logan my PT and, Hannah and Georgia my Physio’s.

I’ve started repacking the truck, the yards have new woodchip, arena is harrowed, jumps painted, tack is cleaned and Radar’s brand new saddle arrived!! 🤩 Things are heating up around here (not literally, Taupo has been like Antarctica the last few days!).

Going forward I have a big update on where I’m at with coaching, schoolers and with the business but that’s to come next week when I also know more. For now enjoy these photos of the last 2 months of life looking very different! Hope the boys are ready for their EcoHorse makeovers, hair cuts, pre season vet check ups and farrier visit this weekend because the countdown is on 2 weeks to go… 🥰

Another random selection of photos of some of my favourite memories from 2019 to now… reminiscing the last few years! 🥰

A phone call from Mark in 2019 with a job offer landed me on a plane heading to the UK (turning down my uni offer 🙈) a couple of weeks later!

From Team Todd to Team Collett and now having an established business at our lovely Taupo base it really has been an amazing journey, with more tough times than I ever could have imagined. 🥲

But I’m stronger (definitely not physically 😂) than ever and looking forward to seeing what the years ahead have in store.

The only thing I know for certain is that a serious amount of hard work is on the horizon 😎 let’s do it…

Blasts from the past…

This down time has been the perfect opportunity to reflect on the journey from the little Brea with huge dreams that I never thought were possible, to now riding full time (with even bigger dreams 😳)!

Here’s a look into life from starting out with horses, to when I moved to the UK at 18 yrs old 🥰 she’s been quite the journey!

Part 2 to come…

A very sad time in our sport 💔💔

Two lives lost doing something we all love yesterday.

Really a reminder of just how fragile life is. Hug everyone a little tighter and tell them what they really mean to you because none of us are guaranteed tomorrow, life really can be so cruel. 😭

My thoughts go out to the families, connections, medics, officials and those at the scene. A truely frightening and heartbreaking day for them to experience.

BRITISH EVENTING STATEMENT

It is with immense sadness that British Eventing confirms the tragic loss of Sophie Fouracre and Kerry Donoghue following separate incidents on Saturday 18th July 2026.

Sophie Fouracre, aged 34, was fatally injured in a cross-country accident riding Rhubarbsfox Brittania, at Swalcliffe Park, Oxfordshire, England.

Hours later at Penrith in Cumbria, Kerry Donoghue, aged 42, died following a cross-country accident riding Carneyhaugh Rua.

At both venues, the event medical teams responded immediately and provided emergency treatment. Despite their best efforts sadly neither rider could be saved.

Both horses were examined by the attending veterinary team and were found to be uninjured.

Rosie Williams, Chief Executive of British Eventing, said: “The British Eventing community is heartbroken. On behalf of everyone at British Eventing, I want to extend our deepest condolences to Kerry and Sophie's families, friends and loved ones at this devastating time. Our thoughts are also with their fellow competitors, organisers, officials, volunteers and everyone who has been affected by these tragic events.

“We are immensely grateful to the organisers, doctors, paramedics, veterinary teams, officials and emergency services at both events for the professionalism, compassion and care they showed in the most difficult of circumstances.

“The loss of two members of our eventing family on the same day is almost beyond words, and we know the sadness of these events will be felt profoundly across the sport for some time to come.”

In accordance with British Eventing's safety and incident review procedures, comprehensive reviews of both accidents will now be undertaken.

We recognise the impact these tragic events will have across the eventing community. Anyone affected is encouraged to seek support through the British Eventing Support Trust Helpline, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on 07780 008877.

We respectfully ask that the privacy of both families is respected during this incredibly difficult time.
