Shiny new things. Meet the MDT ACC Elite M1 Chassis.

Why the M1?
The M1's designed as a precision platform for sniper ri**es.
This one's for Rem 700 footprint and we have a few different models we've imported from the states, as well as actions, barrels etc of different calibers to test it out with.

Its made with 7000 series aluminum, so it's alot more solid than the standard ACC Elite....has to be gruntproof.

When your scope decides it wants to go for a walk… 😂

Mike’s scope came loose, so we got it back where it belongs and reset everything before getting it onto a zeroing screen and back into it.

It's a good reminder that good shooting starts with equipment you can rely on.

Your r***e needs to be properly set up, everything torqued to the correct specifications, and the setup matched to you as the shooter.

That's all part of what we cover on the LRA Fundamentals Course—getting your r***e set up properly, understanding what you're working with, and making sure your equipment is ready to do its job.

A little look back at the NZFishingHunting4x4Expo in Rotorua a couple of weeks ago.

We were there talking all things long-range shooting, with presentations covering Introduction to Long Range Shooting and Precision Reloading.

A huge thanks to the team at Intrinsic Events for putting on a great expo and having us along. And of course, a special mention to Pitmaster | Shaun Branson for keeping the LRA crew very well fed. 🔥🥩

A massive thanks to the LRA team for their support over the weekend too. It's awesome to look back at where we started and see how much LRA has grown over the past few years.

It was great meeting so many shooters, hunters and curious minds, and having plenty of good conversations about getting better at what we do. Even those of you who shoot Brownings were okay.

Thanks to everyone who came along and had a yarn.

LRA Field Notes – Lesson 2

🎯 Trigger Control. Done Right.

Start by placing the side of your trigger finger against the trigger guard, then slide it back until you make contact with the trigger.

This gives you a consistent reference point for where the trigger is, rather than having to guess where your finger needs to go. It also becomes useful when it's cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey and you can't feel your fingers properly.

From there, maintain your position as you gently squeeze the trigger.

Immediately after the shot, hold the trigger to the rear for a second. This helps prevent you from immediately moving or flinching, which disturbs your position and introduces an inconsistency.

Simple technique, but worth getting right.

Importance of Dry Firing. During our fundamental courses we focus on r***e setup, marksmanship principles and how these are applied. Movement of the reticle during the trigger break is an indicator that not only your NPA is out, but your r***e system may not be set to your body correctly.
Straining to get yourself onto the r***e and achieve a correct sight picture means you need to tweak the setup. MDT provides the simplest solution to unadjustable factory stocks. The Field Stock and Oryx Chassis are functional options for hunting or field shooting.

A glipse into the past weekend.

Fundamentals Course and Observation & Windage Course, with some rugged Central Plateau weather thrown in for good measure.

🌧️ Damp weather
🎯 Plenty of shooting
🥩 Some awesome feeds
😂 Plenty of banter
☀️ Even a token appearance from the blue sky

We only needed some snow for the full Central Plateau experience.

Despite the damp weather, the humour certainly wasn't dampened.
Good shooting, good food, good people and plenty of laughs.

Not a bad way to spend a weekend.
