Waiouru Community Committee We are dedicated to building a welcoming, connected, and resilient community where everyone belongs.

Whether you are part of an NZDF family, a local resident, civilian staff, or a community group, we are here to support you! The Society is established and maintained exclusively for charitable purposes in accordance with the Charities Act 2005, including any purposes ancillary to those charitable purposes, namely to benefit the Waiouru community by:
• strengthening social connection, inclusion, participation, wellbeing, resilience, and a sense of belonging;
• reducing social isolation and supporting the whole Waiouru community, including NZDF families, civilian staff, residents, community groups, and local organisations;
• providing and facilitating accessible community spaces, resources, events, programmes, activities, and initiatives that enable people to connect, participate, contribute, and flourish;
• supporting community-led groups, organisations, programmes, and initiatives through practical assistance, resources, partnerships, facilities, and opportunities;
• connecting people and organisations to encourage collaboration, participation, and the sharing of resources and opportunities; and
• undertaking inclusive, accessible, and community-focused activities that contribute to a connected, thriving, resilient, and sustainable Waiouru community.

🎉 QUIZ NIGHT FUNDRAISER 2026 — WHAT A NIGHT! 🎉

Another successful Quiz Night Fundraiser was held on Saturday 8th August at the Waiouru Sports Complex, and what a night it was!

We were thrilled to have our biggest-ever turnout of team registrations, with teams from across the wider Ruapehu and Rangitīkei Districts battling it out for the title of Quiz Champions 2026.

After a night of challenging questions, plenty of laughs and some very competitive teams, congratulations go to:
