🙏 PRAY FOR MINDANAO 🙏

Today, our hearts are with the people of Mindanao following the recent earthquake.

We pray for every family seeking safety, every child facing uncertainty, every responder working tirelessly, and every community affected by this disaster.

May God place His hand of protection over Mindanao, bring comfort to those who are afraid, strength to those who are helping others, and hope to those who have suffered loss.

In moments like these, we are reminded that we are one nation and one people. Let us unite in prayer, compassion, and support for our brothers and sisters in need.

To everyone in Mindanao: stay strong, stay safe, and know that the entire country stands with you.

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble.”
Psalm 46:1

🇵🇭 Mindanao, you are in our prayers. You are not alone. 🙏❤️

For many athletes, this will be an opportunity to gain valuable experience, test their skills, build confidence, and prepare themselves for an international competition experience.

This is more than a tournament series.

It is a celebration of hard work, perseverance, friendship, sportsmanship, and the pursuit of excellence. It is about creating opportunities for athletes of all ages and levels to learn, grow, and discover what they are capable of becoming.

We are proud to announce that the following countries have already completed their registrations for the WOTAI International Open Taekwondo Championships 2026:

🇺🇸 United States of America
🇬🇧 United Kingdom

🇰🇪 Kenya

With international participation continuing to grow, the WOTAI International Open is shaping up to be one of the most exciting Taekwondo events in the region.

To every athlete preparing for competition, remember this:

Champions are not built on tournament day.

They are built during the early mornings, the long training sessions, the difficult moments, and the days when nobody is watching.

Every class attended.
Every kick practiced.
Every challenge overcome.

These are the moments that shape champions.

Whether you are stepping onto the competition floor for the very first time or preparing to compete against international athletes, your journey matters, your effort matters, and your dreams matter.

Together, let us continue building a stronger Taekwondo community through athlete development, friendship, respect, and excellence.

We look forward to seeing everyone in Victorias City this August as we continue the road to the WOTAI International Open Taekwondo Championships 2026.

🥋 THE DAILY DOJANG READ

DDR #013

THE PEOPLE WHO KEEP SHOWING UP

There was a time after the 2004 Olympics when I wanted to stop.

My ankle was injured, and every training session hurt. Before practice, I would carefully tape my ankle and take pain medication just to get through another day of training.

Physically, I wasn't 100%.

Mentally, I wasn't either.

For the first time in a long time, I wasn't sure if I could perform the way I used to. I had lost confidence.

But the team needed me.

There was no replacement for my weight division at that time, and the 2005 Southeast Asian Games were going to be held in Manila.

So I kept showing up.

One training session at a time.

One day at a time.

One step at a time.

A year later, I won the gold medal at the 2005 SEA Games.

Looking back, I've realized something important.

Most people think success comes from talent.

Others think it comes from motivation.

But in my experience, success often comes from something much simpler.

Showing up.

As a coach, I still carry that lesson with me today.

There are days when only a few students come to class.

Sometimes I worry.

Sometimes I wonder why attendance is low.

Sometimes I feel tired too.

But then I remind myself that every child who walks through the dojang doors deserves my best effort.

Because that might be the only training session they have this week.

That might be the lesson they remember.

That might be the encouragement they needed.

And so I show up.

One of the greatest joys of coaching isn't seeing athletes win medals.

It's seeing students leave class smiling.

It's hearing them ask questions.

It's watching them gain confidence.

It's knowing they learned something valuable before they went home.

Life is not about being perfect.

It is not about always feeling motivated.

It is not about always being at your best.

Sometimes, life is simply about showing up and doing your duty anyway.

The people who make the biggest difference are often not the most talented.

They are the ones who continue showing up when others stop.

🤔 Reflect On This

Who has been someone in your life that kept showing up for you when you needed them most?

A parent?

A coach?

A teacher?

A friend?

Tag them below and let them know you appreciate them.

🥋 Daily Takeaway

Success is built one day at a time.

Growth happens when we stay committed.

Great things happen when we keep showing up.

🥋 DAILY DOJANG PRAYER

Tuesday • June 9, 2026

Matthew 5:10 (AMP)

"Blessed are those who are persecuted for doing that which is morally right, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

🙏 Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for another day and another opportunity to learn, grow, and do what is right.

Sometimes doing the right thing is not the easiest choice. It may cost us comfort, popularity, or approval from others. But help us remember that Your approval matters most.

Give us the courage to stand by our values, even when it is difficult.

Help us to be honest when honesty is hard.

Help us to be kind when kindness is not returned.

Help us to remain faithful when challenges come our way.

As athletes, coaches, parents, and students, teach us to choose integrity over convenience and character over recognition.

May we never be afraid to do what is right simply because it is right.

Strengthen our hearts, guide our decisions, and remind us that You walk beside us through every challenge.

May our lives reflect Your truth, Your love, and Your goodness.

In Jesus' name we pray,

Amen. 🙏🥋

✨ Today's Reflection: "Doing the right thing is not always easy, but it is always worth it."

🥋 DAILY DOJANG PRAYER

Monday • June 8, 2026

Matthew 5:9

"Blessed are the makers and maintainers of peace, for they will express His character and be called the sons of God."

🙏 Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the gift of another day.

Thank You for our families, our friends, our coaches, our teachers, and everyone who helps us grow.

Today, help us become peacemakers.

When we are frustrated, give us patience.

When we disagree with others, give us understanding.

When we are hurt, help us choose forgiveness instead of anger.

Teach us to use our words to encourage, not to tear down.

Help us show kindness to those who need it, respect to those around us, and compassion to those who are struggling.

May we be strong enough to stand for what is right, but humble enough to choose peace whenever possible.

Help our athletes train with honor.

Help our parents lead with love.

Help our coaches teach with wisdom and integrity.

May our dojang be a place where friendships grow, character is built, and people feel welcomed and valued.

Let us reflect Your character in everything we do today.

May our actions bring unity.

May our hearts bring peace.

And may we always remember that true strength is not found in fighting others, but in treating others with respect, kindness, and love.

In Jesus' name we pray,

Amen. 🙏🥋❤️

🥋 Sunday Training at DG Pasig

While many spend their Sundays resting, these young athletes chose to show up, train hard, and invest in themselves.

Every class is more than learning how to kick, punch, or compete. It is about building discipline when things get difficult, confidence when challenges arise, and character that will guide them for the rest of their lives.

Success is not created overnight. It is built through small daily efforts, consistent training, and the courage to keep improving one step at a time.

To all our Team DG students, we are proud of your commitment, hard work, and positive attitude. Keep believing in yourselves, keep trusting the process, and keep moving forward.

The champions of tomorrow are the students who choose to work hard today. Every kick, every drill, and every lesson learned brings you one step closer to becoming the best version of yourself.

Keep training. Keep growing. Keep chasing greatness. 👊🥋
