People still keep bringing up RHJ’s 3-0 Finals record against JB, but they always leave out an important detail—JB was injured in those series, even playing with a damaged thumb and still suiting up because that’s who he is.
Now the tables have turned. JB is healthy, while RHJ is injured and isn’t even playing. Suddenly, injuries are a valid excuse?
I’m not taking anything away from RHJ. He’s a great player. But if JB’s injuries were ignored when RHJ won three straight Finals over Ginebra, then RHJ being unavailable today shouldn’t be used to diminish what JB and Ginebra accomplished.
Fair comparisons need fair context. JB lost while playing hurt, but he still fought. RHJ is hurt and can’t even take the floor. That’s the difference.

This is JB’s stats since 2016. After 10 years, his numbers didn’t go down—they actually went up. That’s crazy. 🔥
Sure, his rebounds dipped a bit, but his shooting percentages improved. A decade later, he’s become even more efficient. Most players decline with age, but JB seems to keep evolving. That’s what greatness looks like. 🐐🏆
