The Kisay Basketball Club brings back our foundation-day-special booth, Scien-Tira!💪🏻⛹🏻‍♂️

We are located at the Student's Area in front of the SB Building and near Margate Hall.

Here are the mechanics:
Each line corresponds to a point which increases with the distance from the ring.

Specifically, 1 3 and 5 points depending on where the player shoots the ball.

10 Pesos for 1 shot
30 Pesos for 5 shots
50 Pesos for 10 shots

The goal of the player is to shoot and score the most points for the whole day of foundation.

The 3 players with the most points would receive the following:

👑1st PLACER 1000 Pesos
🏅2nd PLACER 500 Pesos
🎖️3rd PLACER 250 Pesos

Leaderboards will be updated every 1 hour before the end of the booth which would be at 12:30NN sharp.

The Basketball Club will announce and contact the winners after 1-2 days.

🚨🚨GAME TIME🚨🚨

The Basketball Club is glad to announce that the Mini-League is now back!😎🏀 But now, there's a catch. The participating students will be scouted as they play in the tournament. Fortunate students will be invited to participate in the tryouts for the school's varsity basketball team.😁🤑

Here are the mechanics of the 4x4 Mini-League ‼

1. Read, understand, and follow what is written on the Google Form.
2. The Mini-League is open only to non-basketball varsity students .
3. The Basketball Club executive committee will create groups made of seven (7) players (3 substitute players per team).
4. The groups of four players will compete in a tournament style format.
5. The 4x4 Mini-League will be held at the school dome on SEPTEMBER 12, 2024, FROM 4PM TO 6PM.
6. The participants will be assigned a number. They will be called by the number assigned to them during the tournament to ensure that the tournament runs smoothly.
7. Each game will run for 10 minutes and will end once a team scores 12 points.
8. Registrations will close once 120 students have registered.
9. Registrations will close on September 11, 2024, 8:00 PM.

ENGGK ENGGK ENGGK, it's weekly posting ‼️🗣️📣

Traveling in basketball is all about keeping the game fair and fluid! 🏀🚫 It occurs when a player holding the ball moves illegally without dribbling.

A pivot is the legal movement in which a player who is holding a live ball on the playing court steps once or more than once in any direction with the same foot, while the other foot, called the pivot foot, is kept at its point of contact with the floor. Once you’ve established a pivot foot, it must stay grounded until you pass, shoot, or start your dribble. Lifting it before dribbling or taking too many steps leads to a violation.

A player who catches the ball while he is progressing, or upon completion of a dribble, may take two steps in coming to a stop, passing or shooting the ball.

Always be mindful of your movements to avoid turnovers and keep the game smooth. 😎💪

The Flagrant foul is designed to maintain sportsmanship among players, player safety, and player health. The kind of flagrant foul charged to a player depends on the severity of the contact.

1. Flagrant 1 Foul: If a referee interprets a contact committed against a player as unnecessary, a flagrant 1 foul (personal foul and technical foul) will be given to the offending player. Furthermore, a team foul will be given to the team of the offending player. This foul will also result in the awarding of two (2) free throws to the offended team. Two occurrences of this foul in one game will result in the ejection of a player.

2. Flagrant 2 Foul: If a referee interprets a contact committed against a player as unnecessary and excessive, a flagrant 2 foul (personal foul and technical foul) will be given to the offending player. Furthermore, a team foul will be given to the team of the offending player. This foul will also result in the awarding of two (2) free throws to the offended team and the ejection of the offending player from the game.

Let us always remember that even though basketball is a competitive physical sport, it is not worth putting other people's health at risk. Your biggest opponent is yourself. Don't let your thoughts get in the way of having fun. 😤💯
