"As the hut spun faster, fragile circles of dust lifted from the floor. Each whirl was a word; each rise of powder summoned someone from old tales — a child who had lost its laughter, a merchant longing for home, a spirit seeking redress. Baba Yaga stood in the center of those circles and spoke to empty space: dust answered in echoes, coughing up images that clung to her hands. This is how she summoned stories she later stirred into the cauldron, and how sometimes those stories returned as the sound of footsteps at her door."
