TFB 2017 v ACS Tracțiunea
A beautiful morning for football, and with the team playing their first 7v7 match, there was a buzz in the squad. It could not have got off to a better start! The team moved the ball well with speed and great accuracy, right from the opening kick off and managed to get an early goal. A beautiful 8-pass move finished with supreme confidence by Mihai. One of the best TFB team goals, of any age group, to date!
We continued this trend by adding a high intensity press. This worked very well and showed the amazing commitment from each player to apply pressure when we were out of possession. Stefan, Iacob and Noah in the midfield provided the team with a solid core who can move the ball through the gaps and stop anything that came at them. Matei was solid and composed; Matty just scores from anywhere!
The wide players, whether it was the starters or the players off the bench, matched the intensity and performed really well attacking and also doing the hard work in defence. An impressive TFB debut for Teo, a second debut and a welcome return to TFB for Edi and a first game in a while and a solid performance from Octavian.
The opposition had no choice but to be more aggressive to compete. It was harder for our players to stay in the flow and we started to look a bit disjointed. Mateo was called into action a few times and was excellent. We lost shape and rhythm, with players wandering from their positions and getting attracted to the throng in the middle and we stopped doing what helped us perform so well at the start. This understanding will develop with more games and experience at 7v7.
Eventually, we managed to get the shape back and regained control of the contest. There were some brilliant goals scored and impressive creativity for the large crowd supporting the children to witness. Overall it was a strong display which we can build on. A fantastic effort from every player and the support from the parents was great, as usual.
Back to the training ground to continue the development of this promising team and prepare, ready to go again.
