It’s been a long time in the making, but finally we have a Records & Statistics page on our website!

Of course, records are always relative. Trail conditions and weather are never exactly the same, and a time that may not look particularly impressive on paper can actually represent an outstanding performance when you take difficult trail conditions and tough weather into account.

Still, it’s fun to look at the numbers, compare performances and discover a few interesting statistics from the history of the Lapland Arctic Ultra.

Of course, at the Lapland Arctic Ultra we are all about the winter!

But even we have to admit that autumn comes in a very close second.

The forests turn into a sea of gold, red and orange, the air becomes crisp and clear, and every day feels a little more magical than the last.

Jockfall is the perfect base from which to discover and experience this amazing time of year!

Okay, it's done. After updating the gear list for the Yukon Arctic Ultra, I have now finished adapting this list for the Lapland Arctic Ultra. It is a lot of information ...

If you are new to this kind of cold-weather adventure, it shows why it absolutely makes sense to give yourself plenty of time to prepare. There is so much to research, test, and think about.

I have also added a list that can serve as a starting point for planning your sled weight.

Please note that none of the lists are complete or will be perfect for everyone. There are so many factors that influence equipment choices. However, I hope the information will be useful and help you with your preparation.

I also welcome input from race veterans - for example, if there is an item I have definitely missed, or if you would like to share your experience with a specific piece of gear and why you do or do not like it. With your permission, I will include your comments directly on the website.

The hosting for the LAU website has now been successfully moved.

Because the “extended” hosting migration took place at the end of July - just as entry fees increased - I will extend the deadline. Therefore, the July entry fee remains valid for any registrations received before August 8. Weniger anzeigen

I’m currently migrating the hosting for the Yukon Arctic Ultra and Lapland Arctic Ultra websites. As a result, the websites are temporarily offline. I hope to have everything back up and running by tomorrow. Thanks for your patience!

Great news for you if you live in Switzerland! Edelweiss will increase the number of flights from Zürich to Lulea and back next winter. They do have a connection that works perfectly for both the 185 and 500 km distance! It also is great if you want to do the 20, 50 or 85 km and combine it with some exploring of Överkalix and the surrounding area.

Glada fredagsnyheter! Edelweiss utökar direktlinjen mellan Zürich och Luleå inför vintern 2026/2027.

Efter ett starkt bokningsläge under första säsongen går trafiken från 15 till 25 rotationer – en ökning med två tredjedelar. Det innebär fler flygstolar, fler resmöjligheter och större flexibilitet för researrangörer och företag i Norrbotten att paketera upplevelser i olika längd.

För Arctic Sweden Visitors Board är beskedet också ett kvitto på ett långsiktigt arbete med Schweiz som prioriterad marknad. Det är en resevan målgrupp med stark koppling till natur, berg, vinter och aktiva upplevelser, där efterfrågan på resor med hög kvalitet matchar mycket av det Norrbotten har att erbjuda.

It's spring time here in Överkalix. Days are getting longer and longer. Everyone is busy getting their gardens ready and it's so nice to have warm temperatures. BUT it's also great to think about the winter every now and then. 陳彥博 Tommy Chen just released the video about his Lapland Arctic Ultra 2026 adventure.

This short documentary is in Mandarin but even if you don't speak the language, it's great to get Tommy's view of things and re-visit the race in this way!
